Dating Advice

(Both Lee and Sakura have problems getting decent dating tips.)

Sakura stood outside the restaurant, one of the nicest in the village, where Ino had told her she absolutely must go to impress her date. She was wearing the dress, a little lower-cut than she liked, that Ino had told her would bring any man to his knees, with the make-up that Ino had helped her apply. Sakura didn't go on all that many dates, what with her training and her work at the hospital, so she had decided to get some advice from her best friend. Now that she was standing here waiting for Lee, however, she was starting to have second thoughts.

Lee walked down the street, holding a bouquet of roses, which Gai-sensei had told him women loved. He was wearing an incredibly uncomfortable suit, which Gai-sensei had told him would impress anyone. As he walked, he ran through a list of all the things Gai-sensei had told him were compliments women loved to hear, and tried to remember which ones Tenten had been trying not to laugh at so he could avoid them. He didn't go on all that many dates, what with his training and his devotion to Sakura-san, so he had decided to get some advice from his beloved mentor. But now that he was almost at the restaurant where Sakura had suggested they eat, he was feeling more and more nervous.

When Lee came into sight, Sakura stood up carefully, cursing the high heels Ino had advised her to wear, and gave her best come-hither look, as taught to her by Ino. She flicked her tongue out to lick her lip (she had practiced it in the mirror, with Ino's tips alternating with laughter at Sakura's attempts), and said "Hello, Lee," with her voice pitched an octave lower, which Ino had said was very, very sexy.

Lee blushed, tried not to stare, and stammered out, "You look very...very...youthful, Sakura-san." And he thrust forth the roses.

They stared at each other for a moment, both trying to keep a straight face, before bursting out laughing together.

"Let's go to Ichiraku's," Sakura said as she kicked off her high heels and pulled on the light jacket she'd brought with her.

"Sounds good," Lee said, tugging loose his uncomfortable tie and giving the roses to a confused waitress out on her smoke break.

They walked off to find the ramen stand, Sakura with her feet bare and Lee with his collar looking sloppy, hand in hand, and they both thought it was the most romantic thing they'd ever done.
