Author's Note: Hello! This is my first ever submission. I really hope you review so I can get a sense of what works and what doesn't. That being said...

Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys are not in this chapter, so just stay with me because I really needed to lay down the foundation of this story. Trust me on this.

I don't own Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys or anything. Saying that makes me sound like Aladdin.

I also don't own Aladdin.

So, here we go!

The sound of a gavel smacking wood rang out through the courtroom.

Carson Drew stood up and looked at the twelve members of the jury. He felt a rush of adrenaline. This was his favorite part of the trial. This is when cases were decided. It all came down to this. There is more than enough evidence. Focus, Drew.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I am going to make my statement brief. There is simply no words that anyone could say that can change the fact that this man is guilty. You have heard testimony from not one, but two women who were kidnapped and raped by the defendant. They were the lucky ones! You saw the evidence of the 14 women whose mangled bodies were dumped like trash after this cowardly, pathetic man was done with using them.

"16 women. 14 bodies. As a member of this community, as a father, as a human, I'm asking you to look at the evidence. Its overwhelming, so your decision will be easy. You have the power to protect yourselves, your sisters, your daughters, all by sending him where he belongs…."

Raymond Bishop looked up from where he was sitting. After a month long trial, he was bored. At first he had been pleased to hear them talk about what he had done. But none of them understood. They didn't understand the rush. They looked at him with disgust, not awe. The worst one had been that damn lawyer. He had talked about him like he was some dumb, awful monster.

Bishop looked at the silver-haired attorney with hatred in his eyes. He was barely listening to the closing argument, but then he heard the lawyer insult him. Cowardly? Pathetic? How dare he. Those acts were a masterpiece his tiny little brain couldn't understand.

Bishop rolled up his fists under the table in an effort to control his anger. It was to his surprise that he found a nail sticking out from the side had poked his thumb. If he adjusted his hands right, he might be able to get out of these hand cuffs.

He heard a tiny click under the table.

The jury deliberated for less than 20 minutes before returning with the verdict.

"Will the defendant please rise." said a bailiff next to the judge.

Bishop sat in his chair, almost like a defiantly bored teenager who was ignoring a parent.

"You are ordered to rise." said the judge, irritated. She waited a few moments before ordering her bailiff to make him rise.

It happened in an instant.

As soon as the bailiff grabbed his arms to pull him up, Bishop grabbed the gun from his holster and pulled the man towards him, putting the weapon to the bailiff's temple. He began to walk awkwardly towards the doors, making sure the bailiff's body shielded his own.

"Looks like I am walking out of this courtroom judge, or your personal bitch here gets it." His cold black eyes found the face of the lawyer he hated. "Not so cowardly now, am I? Oh, but I can show you who is a coward. Just wait."

And with that he escaped into the bright sunlight.
