Percy had been trying to ask Annabeth on a date for days now, but he kept getting interrupted.
Flash backs
"Hey Annabeth." Percy said smiling at her at lunch.
"Oh hey." She said smiling back.
"So I was wondering" He was cut off.
"Hey Percy! The swim coach says he needs you!" Some random kid yelled running up to Percy looking out of breath.
"What for?" Percy asked.
"He said something about knowing what school you guys are competing against next time." The kid informed him.
"Alright." He turned to Annabeth. "Sorry I have to go." He said.
"Hi Annabeth! How's It going?" Percy asked as he saw her in the hallway.
"It's going pretty good. How are you doing?" She asked him smiling up at him.
"I'm great. Hey can I ask you something?"
"Yeah sure." She said beaming.
Just then the bell rang. "Oh I'm really sorry Percy, but I have to go. I'll talk to you latter though!" She called rushing down the halls to get to class. I was heading to mine, but a staff member caught me and took me to the office for running in the halls.
Percy decided to skip the hellos this time and just ask when he saw her in the bus lane.
"Annabeth will you" He got cut off again.
"I'm sorry Percy, I can't talk right now. I promised Piper I'd talk to her before we got on the bus." Annabeth smiled apologetically before rushing off.
The next morning while waiting for class to start Percy started to walk up to Annabeth but Jason beat him to her asking for help with his homework.
Percy sighed wondering if he would ever get his chance
Back to the present
Percy just sat down with Grover.
"You okay man?" His friend asked.
"I keep trying to ask Annabeth out but something always interrupts me." Percy complained, sounding exasperated.
"Well maybe it wasn't meant to be." Grover said.
"Easy for you to say, you have your dream girl." Percy pointed out.
Grover was about to say something but stopped.
"Hey Percy." Percy turned around to see Annabeth standing there. She must have finished helping Jason. It looked like Jason was now helping Luke.
"Hey." He said back smiling at her.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go out this weekend?" She asked blushing a little bit.
His smile got bigger. "Yes defiantly!" He said happily.
"Huh maybe it was meant to be as long as you weren't the one asking her out." Grover said jokingly, reminding the two that he was still there.
"Oh shut up dude." Percy told his friend playfully.
