Just something that I've been wanting to write for awhile. Not the best, but I do what I can and hope you enjoy!

Dear Mum and Dad,

It's been sixteen years since you had to leave, since the last time I saw you.
I wish I had voices to go with the smiling faces in the picture by my bed.
I barely knew you, but I miss you, and I love you. But I understand why you had to go.
Thank you for giving me a safe world to grow up in.

Uncle Harry talks about you both quite often. He's told me everything he knows about you two.
He told me about your favourite pink hair, mum; and about how dad taught him the Patronus Charm.
After that I begged and begged for him to teach me, finally he did over Easter Break. While he was a great teacher, I still wish it could've been you, dad.
It's still pretty weak and I need practice, but you'll both be pleased to know it's a wolf.

You should both also know about my girlfriend, Victoire Weasley. Bill and Fleur's daughter. She's a fourth year Gryffindor. No one knows about us yet, but I thought you both should. She's beautiful. Strawberry blond hair, freckles, blue eyes and skin that I'm pretty sure glows. Sorry for gushing about her, but she really is beautiful. She's also really sweet, I think you'd both approve.

So here I am, sixteen years old and writing a letter to my parents. That's usually pretty normal, but I don't know if you'll actually get this. But somewhere in my heart I feel that you will, and that you already know this stuff. I'm curious to know how my owl will even deliver this. I wonder where you are. I would give anything to be able to talk to you, to hug you, to taste mum's cooking, to practice my patronus with dad, to come home to you both over holidays… It's not that I'm lonely, because I've got lots of friends and people who are close enough to be considered family. But I'm lonely for you both. There's always been an empty place in my heart where I know you two belong.

On my eleventh birthday, when my Hogwarts letter arrived I ran to my room, shut the door and showed the letter to your picture. I talked to you both for hours about all the fun I'd have.
You were smiling, you were happy. I know it was just the picture, but I felt like you were there.
That's how I've kept you alive. I did the same when I got my prefect badge and my OWLs (All O's and E's) and when I made the Quidditch team and got my first broom.

Uncle Harry told me that the ones who love us never truly leave us, so in a way, you're still here, you're still alive. You're alive in memories of those around me, and you're alive in my heart because I know you love me. I won't let anyone forget you two, forget what you did, or forget that you helped make this world a better place.

I'll make you proud.

Love,

Teddy
