Her 17 year old daughter smiled up at her.

"Mom, why did you marry dad?"

She smiled at the fond memory.

"Well, Kin, my child hood was nothing like yours. Since my mom died when I was young I worked since I was 7 and didn't have much time to myself and didn't have someone to tell me that what I was doing was wrong. Your dad liked me since we were young, and I had many boyfriends. Before i married your dad i had an on and off relationship. We got mad for the smallest of things and then we would break up for a while and end up back together. One day we had a pity fight. It was nothing big but he was leaving for 3 days so i told him: 'When you come back I'm going to get married to an old boyfriend.' Of course he didn't believe me so he laughed and said i was lying. I really was. I had no plans on any one in particular. Then your father came to my house everyday since we had a weapon store. He would always ask for me and we were good friends. We weren't dating but we hung out every now and then. I didn't particularly like your father. He was rather annoying to me and I liked to dress nicely and be clean but your father Oh my! Imagen him wearing a green spandex jump suite" Tenten visably cringed at the memory while her daughter looked slightly scared.

""Umm, I'd rather not." Kin said with an awkward laugh.

"Well, anyways. One day he invited me to go to the movies and we were together when i asked him 'Have you thought of getting married?' He looked shocked to say the least. Then he said slowly 'Umm, not really...' I only said this kinda joking. Yet I persisted: 'Really? Don't you want to get married?' He stared at me for a while and said 'With you?' and I nodded not expecting the next words he spoke. He said 'Sure.' and after that went to my house everyday. He was leaving to a different town soon but asked for my hand in marriage to my sister Kim." Tenten sighed as she was brought back to the present.

"What happened then?" Kin asked in anticipation.

Tenten laughed at the daughters excitement.

"Well, Lee left but I knew he loved to fight and loved to use that green jump suite. So, I told him that he had to stop wearing his green jump suite and try to not fight for a year if he wanted to marry me. I thought he would say i was crazy and cancel the plans but to my surprise he agreed. A year when by and during that time my ex-boyfriend, Neji, came looking for me. He had a car and a truck. He had money and was from a wealthy family. While Lee had left to gather money for the weeding. Neji confronted me about the marriage. He couldn't believe i was getting married with Lee." Tenten was enjoying the story and noticed the strange look that crossed her daughter.

"You two weren't even dating? Didn't people think it was strange?" Kin listed some of her many questions.

"We weren't dating. Most of the people from my house thought i would marry Neji. They were all shocked. I think I did it because i was tiered of the same thing. Always working and never having time to have fun or time for myself. I wanted to do something that they didn't expect. I wanted to do something different. I didn't love your father when we got married."

Kin seemed confused and slightly sad. "Do you regret it?"

Tenten looked shocked at the question. "Never. Sure he still manages to make me super mad but i love him now and i love my kids. The greatest gifts Kami gave me. 'It was destiny' - one of Neji's favorite phrases." Tenten said with a reassuring smile as she stood up and left the room.

"Well that was strange." Kin said to herself as she pondered how her mother and father had gotten married. They had been married for 22 years now and it was all so very strange.

"Well what ever!"

Well that was a story i heard form my mom on how she married my dad O.o and NejiXTenXLee came to mind not sure why :P
