Chapter One- Demitra's Story

There's one thing that unites us all. Every single one of us. Whatever happens, whatever we've been through, every single one of us has a story to tell. Whatever we do, we're all stories in the end. Don't pretend it's not true; there's one within all of us. Every one of them is different of course. Some are long; some are short. Some are happy; some are sad. Some end in happy ever after; some end in shining pools of warm, wet blood.

My story? Well... that ones a little different. A little more complicated than most. Most stories are similar in that nothing strange or mysterious happens. Nothing out of our perception of that modern society would question. Of course, there are a few, much like mine, which are divergent. That's where everything gets a little...tricky. That's when everything collapses, when everything stops making sense.

So are you sure you want to hear it? Because once you do there is no going back, no denying what you've heard. There will be no forgetting. Once you learn about my story, you can never unlearn it. So make your decision. Turn back now while you still can, retain the small ounce of normalcy you still have. Live your life not having to worry about my story. Live your life as if this never happened, like you never even found this.

Let's see then... what should I call my lovely little tale? What? Every story needs a name. You can't have a story with no name, it would be like a song without melody or a butterfly without wings . It just wouldn't seem right. I think I'll call this one... beyond the door.

Are you ready? Then let me tell you a story.

A/N: Thank you for reading! That was just a short introduction to the story, well...it isn't really much of an introduction. I just felt like writing that and decided it sort of fit the beginning to my part of this tale. I hope you enjoyed it and please stick around, Mellark's part will be up soon and so will the continuation of my tale.

About our 'project'

Me and Mellark attempting a joint fanfiction, however there is a slight twist.

We each think up a character. (an OC)

We think of a general plot line together, however from then on, we are on our own.

We will each write chapters from our characters point of view, following the plot line.

We are not allowed to talk to each other about the chapters.

The only way we will know what the other person has written is once the chapter is posted.

This way, we are pretty much as in the dark as the readers throughout the story.
