Rating: K. It's completely safe.

Disclaimer: Doctor Who belongs to BBC, of course.

Spoilers: Journey's End.

A/N: What started as an AR post-reunion fluffy one-shot, has ended up an AR post-reunion angsty drabble of sorts. I'm not even particularly fond of drabbles. I'm also not sure where h.10/10.5 has gone. It just didn't feel right to write him into this.

The song of inspiration is 'Everything Is Low' by one of my favourite bands, the Go Find.

Please review. (:

The railing was digging into her behind. She didn't mind, not really, as she watched her fingers play with the string from her coat. Her legs were holding her steady, and she really couldn't think of a time when she felt more relaxed in the console room than she did now.

She shouldn't, she knew.

"Didn't you ever learn?" Donna's choked sobs came from the opposite side of the room. She glanced up, staring at her. TARDIS landings were infamously rough, but she knew Donna didn't really care about that. There were no conceivable words, no words to say that would make this any less traumatic.

But for who?

A part of her felt that Donna was lucky. She hadn't been paying attention to the exchange, when Donna realized her crisis, that she'd have to go home. She'd stopped listening when they'd said she wouldn't remember, when Donna broke down.

He would remember.

Her heart was breaking for him, and selfishly, for herself. She was forced away with every memory of him still in tact. Surely, this would be easier on Donna than it was for her.

Donna was lucky.

"Rose?" The console room is suddenly quiet as the Doctor's voice rushes over her. She looks to see an unconscious Donna in his arms, anxiety flooding over her as she realizes that she's unsure of how long she has been like that. The Doctor's face is grave, and he's quick to end it.

"I won't be long."

And off he goes, into the London winter, Donna Noble wrapped in his arms. She questions his resilience, and briefly, she questions her own as well.

She had never expected the best day of her life to be like this.
