Summary: During the climax of the Valley of the End, Naruto starts seeing things which soon lands him in a different realm.
Chapter 1
It was a clear night, with the full moon out and the stars sparkling brightly. All the inhabitants of Kanoha were in deep slunber except for shinobi on gaurd. One blond, however had yet to sleep. His mind refused to let him escape reality with bliss unconsciousness because of the month's earlier events at the Valley of the End. It wasn't the fact that his teammate and best friend defected from the village, tried to kill him or the huge battle the waged.
Flashback
It was at the end of the battle when his Rasengan and Sasuke's Chidori came together and they were both engulfed into the large black sphere of energy.
Naruto noticed in the corner of his eye a small and extremely bright light. He looked into it and noticed some strange lights that made iy look like a never-ending tunnel. Before he could further question the strange phenomenon, everything grew dark.
He woke up later surrounded by white and realized he was at Konoha Hospital. Sasuke had left.
End Flashback
Naruto couldn't get the tunnel out of his mind. He had heard strange noises that didn't seem all too unfamiliar but he couldn't put his finger on it.
Agitated, he forced himself to stop thinking about it, buried himself in blankets, placed his pillow over his head, and tried to sleep. It didn't seem to be working but he soon drifting off at the sound of a song that kept replaying itself. It was soft and slow and kept a steady beat that was extremely soothing. His mind too foggy to think about where it was coming from, he drifted off to sleep.
The next couple of days in Kanoha were wonderfully peaceful. A bit too peaceful. Tsunade was curious and a bit worried as she hadn't had Naruto bust through her doors asking for a mission and no one else seemed to have seen him. She called on one of the anbu to fetch Kakashi for her.
Not too long after, she heard a poof and a "Yo" in the room.
"Kakashi, have you seen or heard Naruto these past 2 days?" she asked. As his jounin-sensei, he should be keeping tract of his students-especially Naruto, who's been extremely persistant on getting back Sasuke. Plus, if he wasn't doing anything productive, then he could do a few missions for her later.
Tapping his chin and putting on a thinking pose, he reviewed the past two days event and repied. "No."
Starting to get pissed, Tsunade cleched her fists and ground out a "Go and find him. I don't want him defecting the village to go find the Uchiha" through her teeth. Honestly, couldn't he be a bit more responsible of his students. He never payed attention to Naruto before and now was a great time to show that he cared some.
Doing as commanded before he got the hogake even more pissed, he went in search of Naruto--not putting much enthusiasm into it, I might add.
Later, the Hokage summoned Tenten, Shikamaru, Shino and Hinata. They noticed that Tsunade seemed upset but mostly angry. They waited for her to speak and jumpped when she did.
"I'm sorry to have to say this but I have a mission. You must go retrieve Uzumaki Naruto."
