He searches for her, every night, and every night, her heart breaks a little more.

In the dark of the night, he rises, feeling illuminated. In the night, he rises, ready to wander and begin his search.

He wonders, why does he? Why does he poison through the sleep of every last human, pokémon, every last slumbering child?

Then he looks up at the blackened sky, so dark and dismal, and in the center? The moon. And he is reminded of her luminescence, her constancy, and light.

He must find her.

Then, with strengthened resolve, the dark cloud of his nightmare seeps through the dreams and thoughts throughout the region.

She can hear them.

She hears their cries through the night, afflicted by a terrible nightmare.

And with every tear, sweat, and pain felt, her heart breaks a little more.

Cracking, her heart screams out to the night sky, crying at her own cowardice.

For while she cannot bear the cries that torment the serene night, she cannot bear the thought of him giving up.

For she cannot go to fulfil her heart's desire without plaguing the world in darkness.

Cursing her own selfishness, she cries within; the moon passes behind a cloud.

And the world, for that moment, was shrouded in black.

Thanks for reading. Any feedback is very much appreciated.
