"Everything is dark, it's more than you could take, but you catch a glimpse of sunlight shining down on your face." -In My Veins by Andrew Belle
He discovers her asleep in a meadow with the sunlight streaming down upon her. She was supposed to go out only for a short ride to get some fresh air, but knowing his wife as he did, he knew he would have to come and find her eventually on a day such as this. And seeing how happy she is in this moment he is glad that he did.
He tries to sneak up on her, so as not to disturb her, but of course, she is alert as always and hears him before he gets too close.
"Trying to sneak up on me, are you?" she asks playfully.
"On you darling?" he asks, "never."
Her laugh sends warmth throughout his body, and he can't help but smile as he sits down beside her.
"I love you," he says breathlessly and with slight disbelief that he can finally say those words to her as often as he chooses.
The look on her face is one that radiates joy as she says those same words back to him and he swears that there is no greater happiness then loving someone and being loved in return.
He tries to tell her how happy she makes him, how complete he feels in her presence, but before he can even begin to think of the words to say, she has once again stolen his breath by knocking him onto his back with the force of her own body. Her lips claiming his put any words that he could think of to shame, and he takes pleasure in her and the sun that shines down upon them.
They stay there in each other's arms for the better part of the day until the sun begins to fade and the duties of their kingdom recall them to their throne.
