Author's Notes:So I was going through Gaia and randomly got the idea of a steam punk world… though this turned out to really just be Wild West style. Huh. Go figure.

I am working on other stuff! I'm just easily distracted D:

Warnings: Gender-bending. That's it!

Roxas wasn't sure what he wanted to do more; go back to the castle and wait for Axel to return before beating his brains in or beating the laughing red head to a pulp and then heading back to the castle.

"Well howdy thar, sweet thang!"

Curling gloved hands into fists Roxas slowly counted down from ten, eyes shut tight. By the time he finished he hadn't calmed down in the least but there was a focus to his rage, at least. "Axel. Shut. The hell. Up."

Axel, for his part, nearly doubled over. "Oh, Roxas! Your voice!" Shaking his head the taller male gasped for breath, apparently trying to get himself under control. The fridge glare that he had been getting from his partner for the last 5 minutes seemed to finally penetrate the amused male though he struggled to fix his lips into a firm line, shoulders still heaving with the need to cackle. "It's, uh- really different?"

"Thank you, Captian Obvious," the blond snapped, hating how light his voice sounded and how usually spiked blond hair had grown, most of it tied up in an intricate bun atop his head with stray bangs curling against his cheeks. He didn't have to look in a mirror to know that there was makeup on his face or that blond lashes had grown a touch longer and more curled.

He definitely did not want to look down at his- her- new assets.

"Why couldn't you be the girl?" The shorter of the pair muttered, continuing to glare at his- her- partner. Axel, the bastard, simply grinned, planting a fist on his hip and summoning one of his two chakrams to raise the brim of a hat with.

"Well, don't you worry, purdy lady," the lanky male said with a horrible country drawl. "I'll do mah best ta keep ya outta harm's way. Jus' stay-"

Axel didn't have time to react when the Keyblade was summoned and hurled directly at him. Rather than the writhing, painful death he expected the deadly weapon flew past his head, close enough that it knocked the dark cowboy hat right off of his head. A wet sounding thud shortly after made the taller male turn, watching as a Neoshadow writhed and disappeared into nothingness. Turning back he caught the full force of Roxas's smirk, the expression both familiar and oddly out of place on the face of the girl before him.

"Well, well," the blond drawled, flicking a wrist and causing the Keyblade to dissipate much as the heartless had. "Perhaps you should stay behind me, alright sugar?"

With the natural grace that the blond carried amplified by a sway of purple and black-clad hips Roxas started off, heading towards a building marked 'SALOON.' He- she- paused just before the swinging doors, shooting a look over a bare shoulder and arching a brow. "You coming?"

Snapping his gaze away from where they had been transfixed on the blond's derriere Axel shook himself. /After the mission I'm going to have to convince Rox back here for a drink. Hell, I could use one now./

"Be right there, darlin'," the red head called with a feral grin, following his partner with an exaggerated swagger and complete appreciation for The Old West.
