Out With The Old...
I don't own Law and Order Criminal Intent or any characters. Just want to pretend.
"You've got to be kidding me man." Lewis looked at his friend disbelievingly
"No. I'm not. This was not an easy decision. You have to know that. I mean..I've been with her longer than any other. Not to mention all the abuse I've heaped on her the past few years."
"But, Bobby...she's been with you through it all. That has to mean something. I know things have been rough lately, but, don't give up. For Gods sake, you think she'll be better off with someone else?"
"I just don't know anymore. I mean...it's not like it used to be..."
Lewis played with his visitors tag and looked up at Bobby. "I don't get it. You've given so much of yourself to her, and now, you're done?"
"Yes, I know, but I'm no good for her anymore...every time we go out, it starts out fine, but by the end I've ended up spending more money than I have and I can't wait to leave her."
"Well, she's going to make some other guy really lucky..and happy."
Bobby looked miserable. He was about to say something else when Alex burst through the door.
"Goren...How dare you!" She was spitting mad. Goren and Lewis looked at her and Goren looked down, embarrassed to be caught talking about this in an interrogation room at work. Where she could and obviously did hear them.
"I mean, yes...things have been rough lately...and we've both said some really terrible things. But you have to know..."
Bobby started to interrupt. "Eames..."
"No, Bobby. Just listen. I'll do whatever it takes. We can make this work. I don't care about the past.."
"But..Alex..." Bobby tried to interrupt again, but she was on a tear.
" And...I know you don't have a lot of money right now. And I don't care. I'll buy. I'm sorry that you've been feeling this way, but how could you just want to abandon me...us...don't I mean more to you than that?" She was nearly in tears. In fact, Bobby could swear that he saw an actual tear fall from the corner of her eye. It was time to straighten her out once and for all.
"But Alex. Eames...as much as I love my CAR...Lewis will be able to find someone else who will get more enjoyment out of her. Not to mention the sweet amount of money I'll get for her. She's a gas guzzler after all." Bobby reached into his pocket and handed the key to Lewis. They both were holding in their laughter.
Alex just stood there and flushed with both embarrassment and anger. She was speechless. Bobby secretly hoped the cameras were on. He could use this for years of blackmail.
Finally, he broke the silence. He innocently asked "Eames...what did you think I was talking about?"
"I hate you." She said and started towards the door. Bobby called after her "Hey Eames. How about Chinese tonight? You're buying...right?
