Annabeth had met Percy 1 year ago. The whole world had changed. The moon had gotten closer to earth because of an asteroid that had hit it. The sky was covered in ash. No sunlight ever came through. Annabeth had forgotten what colors where , She only knew the color grey. The whole world had changed. Major city's like New York and LA had been deserted. Millions dead. And they were lucky to find food or at least get there food delivery every week. Percy had arrived with Annabeth's father and her step mother. Annabeth was living with her two brothers and her older brothers wife and her mother.

Annabeth was laying on her bed in her room when she heard a knock.

" May I come in" ?

It was Percy , Annabeth almost squealed she was still getting used to his male voice.

"Yes , of course come in"

Percy walked in and sat on Annabeth's bed.

"I don't want to bother you but I wanted to know if I could borrow some cloths for my little sister."

Annabeth could tell he was annoyed but she didn't know why. She thought it was because maybe he hadn't gotten used to being around her yet.

"Yea , sure , let me just look around my closet for clothes that don't fit me anymore."

"You know I really hate doing this , Asking people for things to use, I can't stand it."

Annabeth looked at him

"It really doesn't bother me you kn-"

"Shut up , You don't understand Annabeth, Let me tell you a story."

"When I lived in New York with my parents we were very poor but we would always manage, at school we needed to wear uniforms and I could never afford them so my mother kept a coin jar, We would use that to buy my uniforms for school, One day my father found out and he was so mad he took the jar and threw it across the room. I remember all of the money splattering all over and my mother and me bent down to pick up the coins. I quickly realized what I was doing and I told my mom to stop. I was so ashamed that I swore never to be that miserable again. The Next day I went to go get a job and from then on I bought my own uniforms."

Percy lifted his head up and Annabeth looked into his eyes. She could feel his pain in his eyes , she felt like they were sharing a connection and she saw his whole life flash between her eyes. She understood everything that happened to him.

"I am sorry"

Percy got up and left , he ran out of the room, Annabeth was left staring at the wall.
