Unkown Fear Part 1

Where am I...?

It's dark, am I blind?! No, that's not it, I blink once, twice, it is one dark...and cold. Why is it so dark? I thought to myself as I looked around, straining my eyes to get use to the darkness, but it's no good. There seems to be nothing here. Wherever here is. I scanned the darkness, looking for something, looking for light.

I don't get it...where the hell am I? What's going on? Where is every- Wait! What's that?

I looked at a bright light. Well, it was kind of hard to miss if you know what I mean... I'm going to the light, or at least trying to anyway, but it only seems to be getting farther away. Am I running in place or is it moving? It's leaving... Wait! Come back!

I'm running as fast as I can, it seems to be getting closer, I'm gaining on it! It's so close, just a few inches away...Got it! I grabbed it, but, it's really a hand. I jerk my own hand away in surprise, and look from mine to the one I grabbed onto.

It's so pale, as if the skin has never felt the sun's rays upon it. The fingers are long and thin, and the fingernails look as if they've been bitten off. I move my eyes upwards, tracing the arm. It is also white, only much light than the hand. I now realize it's actually a sleeve. A white sleeve. My eyes continue to move up, until I'm staring at two bigs eyes with dark rings underneath them. As if sleep had never been in this person's lifestyle. Two onyx eyes that are staring back at me from under untamed, natural black hair that's sticking out at all ends.

"Ryuzaki?" I asked, in no more than a whisper.

He tilted his head to one side. "Ryuzaki?" He repeated after me, his voice deep and questioning as he continued to stare into my eyes. He straighted his head. "Don't you mean, L?"

I opened my mouth to say something, anything to him. But nothing came out.

"Light-Kun?" He asked. I stopped trying to say something and just looked at him. His eyes darkened, "Or should I say..." He looked straight into my confused eyes. I could see myself in his.

"Kira."

My eyes widened at the word. That one, four-lettered word. The word is what the world knows me as, is causing all this madness, this torture, this...this...

This what?

This what? The only thing I can't seem to figure out. I think for a moment. What the hell could it possible be? This what...? I look back up to him, but he's now farther away.

"You did this to yourself, Light-Kun." He paused at my name, and I saw his face sadden. "Kira." He whispered loud enough for me to hear.

"L!" I yelled and ran after him,but he kept getting farther away. "Wait! L! Ryuzaki! Wait Ryuzaki! Wait!" I screamed.

"RYUZAKI!"

I screamed as I sat up quickly. I was shaking and in a cold sweat. I wrap my arms around myself as I scan the room until my eyes land on the digital clock.

4:36 A.M.

My breathing was heavy, and my shirt stuck to my damp skin. I closed my eyes and ran a hand through my hair. A click of metal against metal made me open my eyes slowly until they settled upon the handcuffs around my wrist. I stared at it, and never, in my entire life, have I ever been glad knowing that I'm handcuffed. I pulled my hand away from my hair, which spiked in all directions when I did so, and stared at the handcuff for a while.

Just stared.

A dream. I sighed deeply, relief washed over me like a wave. It was only a dream.

I followed the chain until I was looking into two huge, onyx eyes with black rings around them.

"Light-Kun?" The eyes blinked.

"Ryuzaki..." I whispered.

"Light-Kun," He sat up until we were face to face. "Why are you crying?"

I blinked in surprise, and said nothing. Because I couldn't say anything.
