She's trying to drag me towards the dance floor, someplace I desperately don't want to be.

"Come on Shepard, everyone knows you can't dance." She stops and looks down her nose at me, hard to do since without her mag boots she's half a foot shorter than me.

"Speak for yourself, Mr. Alenko," she says haughtily as she drops my arm and stalks off to the dance floor, joining Tali and Liara. There's a retro Lady Gaga song playing and I can barely stand to watch. But boy am I glad I do. She starts to move and my jaw hits the floor. Turns out Shepard can dance. She raises her arms above her head and moves her hips in ways I've never seen outside our bed. She drops her ass to the ground and rolls her body back up, flipping her long brown hair(which is finally out of her customary bun) over her shoulder and sending me a wink while she does it.

I decide I really do want to dance at around the time Vega gets up from his table and heads for her. As I pass him he smirks at me, which I return with a glare. Not happening Buddy. I reach Shepard and wrap an arm around her waist, pulling her back into me as she continues to dance. i match my rhythm to hers the best I can.

"Well Shepard, it appears you can dance. I've never seen you move so gracefully outside of battle. Or bed," I lean down and whisper that last sentence into her ear. She blushes and it makes me smile.

"A few friends in physical therapy told me all I had to do was set those 'graceful moves' to music." She punctuates this with another figure 8 drawn by her hips. "It seems to be a crowd pleaser."

My head snaps up to find a rather large number of people watching her. Garrus has the decency to look away, embarrassed, as soon as i catch his eye, but Vega simply raises his eyebrows at me as if to say "next time you slip up she's mine." I lower my brows at him in return. Not happening Buddy.

"Come on Shepard. Don't make me go all caveman in public."

"Ah Kaidan," she sighs. "Don't make me kick your ass."

God, I love this woman.
