At last, Ginny and Luna were finally alone in the all-girls dormitory. Tonight was the night that Ginny was going to profess her love to Luna. While Luna was in the washroom bushing her teeth, Ginny was rehearsing what she was going to say to Luna. As soon as Luna walked out of the washroom, Ginny approached her.

"Can we talk?" Ginny said.

Luna said, "Yeah!"

Ginny put on a nervous look. Luna saw it and knew that whatever she was going to say was serious. Ginny took some deep breaths and opened her mouth but no words came out of her perfect lips. Luna sat down on her bed and gestured for Ginny to sit down. Ginny sat and grabbed a pillow and held it to her stomach. A single tear crept down her cheek. Luna placed her hand on Ginny's knee in a reassuring way.

Ginny started with "I'm gay."

Luna, startled by this announcement, said "I know."

"What? Seriously? How?" Ginny exclaimed.

"I've only been positive for a couple of months," Luna explained.

Ginny sat in silence, hugging the pillow against her chest harder than before, and wondering who else knew. Luna hugged Ginny and she felt better that her friend was excepting of her sexuality. Now Ginny thought about when she was going to tell Luna that she loved her. She thought better now than never.

Ginny started, "I know that I have said a lot tonight but I like you."

"Like have a crush on like?" Luna said wearily.

Ginny, questioning Luna, said, "Is that okay?"

"Yes, of course!" Luna exclaimed.

Ginny non-confrontationally said, "Are you gay too?" and "Do you like me?"

Luna said, slightly offended, "Yes. I am gay and I've known since my mum died."

Neither Ginny nor Luna spoke for several minutes. Ginny hugged the pillow in her lap, so hard she was unable to breathe. Luna was thinking about telling Ginny that she, too, was attracted to her. Luna, while thinking about this matter, started coughing, doubled over, and threw up all over her dirty school clothes. Ginny, reacting surprisingly quickly, casted a spell to tie up Luna's hair, and casted another spell to clean her clothes. Luna sat up and started to say something but she shut her mouth.

Ginny broke the silence with, "Are you okay?"

"Peachy, just peachy." Luna said sarcastically.

"No really, what's up?" Ginny questioned.

Luna nervously said, "I was just scared and nervous about something."

"Luna, what were you nervous about? You can tell me." Ginny said reassuringly.

Luna hesitates to express her feelings for Ginny but finally says, "I like you too. It was like love at first sight with you. I tried to hide my feelings."

Luna gave Ginny a kiss on the cheek. Ginny explains that Luna missed. Luna kisses Ginny on the lips this time. Ginny pulls away. She grabs the pillow that has been in her lap for most of the night and puts it back on top of Luna's yellow silk sheets. Ginny leans over and snogs Luna until she couldn't breathe.

"I'm getting tired." Ginny said only because she could see Luna's eyes going blank.

"Don't go." Luna protested.

"We are both tired and we have Potions first thing tomorrow. Snape will be very unhappy with our weariness if we don't get some sleep tonight." Ginny explained.

"Good night!" Luna said before she fell into a deep sleep.

Ginny walked to the other side of the room and climbed into bed. She couldn't wait for tomorrow and was fighting sleep until it finally consumed her.
