Chapter 1
It all started in that moment, as Katniss was trying to push through the crowd trying to safe her helpless sister. The words suddenly slipped out of her lips, "I volunteer..."
It was too late to take it back. She stuttered as she raised her hand slowly and pointed to the guy on her side. "HIM!" She let it out with as much power as she could.
Whispering started raise around the crowd. Katniss noticed her mistake and moved her hand to the side, "Her." She said, now a bit more clam but firm on her choice.
It was a short ginger girl, Silvia Patchon, who stood in the side holding her up with a metal stick. She was missing a leg, lost it when she was born. Her mother's umbilical cord had stopped the blood flow.
Silvia found this surprising, she had always wanted some attention, but she never wanted this. The announcer was dumbfounded; the announcer just nodded and told the guards to get Silvia.
The guards supported Silvia and took her up the steps. There the crowd cheered for her. The attention, voices were all just for her. How could she let them down?
She stood up firmly and took in the moment. With a great smile on her face, "I will win; I will not let them down." She said under her breath.
Afterwards she was taken to what would lead her to her new beginning. The doors were closed and off she went on her new adventure.
I know it's short... Just you wait, the second chapter will come out soon. BTW I haven't read the books, so I am basing it on the movie, if I get something wrong I am sorry... jeje
