Fred was dead this he knew he just didn't know where he was now, all he knew it was bright white and boring.
He felt like he had been waiting a thousand years when he was dragged from the white bright place and into an office. He was sitting in a chair that rather comfortable and he was glad that even though he was dead, he could still feel if things were comfortable or not.
"Hi there I'm Casey your adviser for the afterlife now it seems there has been a bit of a mix up you weren't the person who was supposed to die. Now you have two choices you can either go back before you died and the intended person will die or you can stay here in the afterlife" Casey said, in a much too cheerful way.
Fred's head was spinning first he dies, then he's stuck waiting for what feels like forever and now he was being told he shouldn't even be dead.
"Who was supposed to die?" Fred asked, because he wanted to go back, but he needed to know who would take his place.
Casey looked at a piece of paper in front of her "Right this makes a lot of sense it seems your brother, Ronald Bilius Weasley was supposed to die that day and someone saw the name Weasley an chose you instead".
"So your saying if I go back my brother is going to die"Fred whispered, wishing he could be someone he didn't care about.
"Unfortunately yes, but if it helps you won't have any memory of this you'll never know that chose to go back or that you died. You see, it was the anger and grief of losing you that kept him alive if you hadn't of died, he never would have had it and he would have died" Casey explained, her voice were no longer cheerful.
"I have already made my decision, but I tell you I need to know did we win and was I the only member of my family to die?" Fred asked, he wasn't going back because he couldn't be responsible for his brother dying whether he'd remember choosing to go back or not.
"Yes, Lord Voldemort previously known as Tom Riddle was defeated, although his soul isn't here, it was too damaged to go either up or down. My records show that you were the only member of your family to die" Casey informed him once again checking her piece of paper. "Now Mister Weasley, what is decision?".
"I'm going to stay dead"
