One day, Sakura moved away from Konoha. Ino was distraught, but Sakura promised to call, e-mail, and message her everyday. She kept this promise, and every day the two of them talked and laughed about what Naruto and Sasuke fought about, or what cute boys were at Sakura's new school. Eventually the months passed and they began to loose track of each other. Ino would call, but always to afraid to leave a message, and sometimes she couldn't get passed the dial tone. She continued with her life, wondering what had every happened to Sakura, and how she was doing. She would sometimes cry at the lose of their friendship. But she new Sakura was probably as busy as her. What she didn't know was that Sakura was also afraid that Ino had forgotten her, since they never talked. She would call and hang up as soon as she heard the blonde girls voice.
One day Ino got a phone call from someone. It was Sakura's mother. And she was in tears Sakura and been in a car accident. Her mother said she was in the hospital in a coma, but her last words before she fell unconscious, was that she wanted her to call Ino. Ino dropped the phone and fell to her knees. When she finally regained her composer she asked what hospital. Sakura's mother told her shakily. Ino jumped in her car and drove as fast as she could to the hospital. When she reached the hospital Mrs. Haruno was waiting for her. They both rushed up to Sakura's room. She'd awoken, but just barely, and her heart rate was low. She looked weakly to Ino then smiled saying, " I didn't think you'd come...but I'm glad I got to see your face one last time..." she coughed, then said, " I'm sorry I lost touch...I'll miss you..." with that, her eyes closed and the her heart rate when to a straight beep. Ino's eyes widdened, Sakura was gone, and silence was the loudest noise she had ever heard.
Ino collapsed into tears and suddenly wished she'd gotten passed the dial tone all those times. She sobbed until her throat was raw. She thought it had been her fault. When it wasn't really anyone's. She cried and sat there shaking. Ino slowly stopped crying as Mrs. Haruno spoke, " She thought you'd forgotten about her, and that's why you stopped calling..." she said. Ino nodded, " I thought the same thing..." then she walked away. Ino went back home that day, and vowed to never be afraid to go passed the dial tone, for anyone, ever again. Because you never knew when they'd leave you.
A/N: I wrote this because I'm having some troubles with my friend because there's a possiblity one of us is moving. And she's worried we'll loose track...and I really hope we don't. This is for anyone who's ever lost a friend from a move. I hope you like it, review.
