The hunter watched me with calculating eyes. He locked me inside the recesses of my soul, holding the key tightly. I felt a horrible burning sensation on my neck, and the fire seeped through my body. Screaming, I wrenched my eyes from the blood blossoming down my shirt to the hunter's sneering face. Fog obscured my vision as my tormentor's lips parted, whispering, "Morgan…"

Confused, I tried to reach out. I knew that voice…somehow, somewhere. Suddenly, the fog lifted, and the hunter was gone. I was lying on a sofa with a black jacket thrown over me. I blinked, still in the grasp of my nightmare, then turned my head towards the whispering voice.

"Morgan?" he whispered, stroking my hair with a gentle hand. "Are you alright? You were screaming…"

I grimaced. "Yeah, it was just a bad dream."

He looked at me, worried, then smiled. "I'm never taking you to see a vampire movie with me ever again."

"Hey!" I protested. "I'm fine! But…will you stay a little longer?"

He laughed slightly, then his eyes grew more serious. He leaned over me, his dark hair falling over his shoulder. He brushed my jawbone with his lips, letting them linger on mine as he slowly drew away.

"Sleep now," he whispered. "I love you." As hard as I tried to resist, my eyes slowly closed as he caressed my cheek.

"Byakuya…I love you, too," I whispered, as he began humming a sweet, slow song, sending me drifting off to a peaceful sleep with a smile on my face.
