Moonlight's Eyes
Night after night, the moonlight would spill through the large window, illuminating the room with its presence. If the moon had eyes, it would probably see an empty room.
A room that was still…
A room that was void of life…
Yet that was far from the truth…
In the far corner of the room were two Hylians lying in a large bed.
A blonde-haired man with piercing blue eyes and a brown haired woman with cold blue eyes.
"It's all over now, please try to relax." The man whispered, stroking her bare shoulder.
The woman sighed and closed her eyes. "I can't, it is much too hard."
He could hear soft sobs coming from her delicate, shivering body; clearly they were tears of trauma. He couldn't blame her at all…after what she went through.
Being forced to surrender and stripped of everything…
Imprisoned in a dark, lonely, tower…
Being manipulated and used as a puppet to kill him…
In fact, he would be surprised if she didn't cry.
"Please look at me…" the man whispered.
After the woman did so, he could swear that he could still see that sense of purity in her soul.
"Please take my hand…"
With no reluctance, she slides her smooth hand into his calloused one and quickly felt her face heat up when he brought it to his lips.
"Now how did you feel when I kissed your hand?"
The woman released a confused frown. "Well, I felt a sense of comfort and safety…and something I am quite unfamiliar with." She answered in a broken tone.
He hated when she spoke in such a sad tone. He wished he could empathize with her, but having lived in different ways and in different households, he knew there was no way.
For he was the Hero of Hyrule and she was the Princess of Hyrule.
Sadly, that's all they could ever be…
They could never be just Link and Zelda…
Not even for one night…
"I'm so sorry Link…" was the last thing heard before the spill of the moonlight completely died down.
