A/N: This is for The Dialogue Challenge, and the characters I got were Snape and Parvati! Seriously difficult pairing, but hey-ho, I tried. Hope you enjoy (:
Sorry, Sir
"Wingardium Leviosa."
"What was that?"
"I was just getting the beetle eyes from the top shelf, Professor."
"I said no magic, Patil."
"Well, how am I supposed to get them from all the way up there?"
"You'll find a way. Punishments are punishments, they aren't supposed to be easy."
"Hmph!"
"Was that a sigh I heard escape from your lips?"
"Maybe."
"I'd watch your tongue if I were you, or you might end up going the same way as Longbottom."
"What, beaten within an inch of my life? That's not punishment, Sir, that's criminal. All he did was stick up for Harry, and he ended up knocked out for a week. How is that even fair?"
"You just answered your own question, Patil. He stuck up for Potter."
"And so what? Harry is a hundred times the man you'll ever be!"
"I'd hoped you would listen to my warning. Apparently not. Detention, here, for the rest of the month."
"I don't care! There are people all over Britain, Muggles, Witches and Wizards alike, being murdered for fun. Do you really think a detention would bother me? No way will I stay quiet, just to keep you happy."
"Clearly."
"And another thing..."
"Wow, you seem on a roll here, Patil. Fascinating stuff."
"Why have you even stayed here, now that Dumbledore's dead, and Death Eater's have taken over the school? Surely, as You-Know-Who's right hand man, you'd just leave us and go to do more important things? Like murder anyone who isn't Pure-blood?"
"This school needs keeping in check, that's why. Students that need to be...disciplined."
"What ever happened to you, Sir, to make you so barbaric?"
"If only you knew..."
"What did you say? I didn't hear your answer, Sir."
" I said, if you don't get on with sorting those ingredients for my class tomorrow, then I'll hand you over to the Carrows. And you don't want that, do you?"
"I suppose not."
"And what do you say to me?"
"Sorry."
"Sorry what?"
"Sorry, Sir."
A/N: I hope you enjoyed this (: I find it's more enjoyable to read when you think about Snape is really thinking here. It was a big challenge for me to not be able to write his thoughts in! Just dialogue is indeed a challenge. Please review! (:
