At the mall of Fortune city Isabela was getting dressed in her riding clothes when Casa sat beside her, Isabela looked at Casa and smiled.
"Hello Casa, I'm going to ride my mare as soon as I brush my hair." Isabela was brushing her hair when Casa walked around the bathroom and grabbed the saddle pad, it was pink when Isabela turned around she saw Casa holding on the saddle pad in her mouth "Thanks allot Casa, now I can just get it and go ride my mare and not running back for it." Isabela walked to the Royal plaza to see Jazz in her stall, she brought her out; set her on cross ties. While she was brushing her and saw Chuck tacking up Max.
"Hello Isabela."
"Hey Chuck, do you want to ride together?"
"Sure, I'll go ahead if you want so I'll see you out there."
"Ok." Isabela then saw Casa lying down on a pile of hay, she got Jazz all tacked up and while she was walking her to the mounting block. Isabela got on and Jazz was limping a little bit, she saw Stacey walking Indy outside to the pasture.
"Is Jazz ok Isabela?"
"I don't know, she's limping like allot." Stacey checked Jazz's right hoof on the front, it was the one that was limping.
"Jazz is limping, I think you should ride a different horse." Stacey sighed as Isabela jumped off and helped Stacey untack Jazz and put her away, Isabela was now really upset that she wants to ride outside with Chuck today. It was 11 am and the weather was sunny and warm.
"What horse should I ride?"
"Patronus has a show today, Max is being ridden, Spock, Domino, Tonka and Dakota are busy. Jazz is limping, so I'll see if Carlito has a horse that you can ride this afternoon."
"Ok thanks Stacey, I just wish that Jazz wasn't limping." Isabela started to cry when Casa ran to her owner and looked at Isabela who crouch down and gave Casa a hug as she was crying, Casa started to lick Isabela's face as Max the horse pulled Chuck to where Stacey and Isabela are.
"What's going on?" Chuck asked "I was about to get on when Max heard crying, he pulled me over to see if everything's alright."
"Jazz is limping, and I can't ride her." Isabela sobbed as Max nuzzled her face as he laid down and snuggled with her.
"He really feels sad that you're crying, so does Casa." Casa kept on licking Isabela's face.
"It's ok Isabela, just breathe and stay calm." Stacey patted her back when Carlito came by to see what's going on.
"What's wrong Isabela?"
"My horse is limping, and I have no one to ride."
"It's ok Isabela." Carlito hugged his sister, he hated to see her cry even when she can't help but cry "Maybe you can ride my horse."
"Really?" Isabela stopped crying "Your horse Lachlan right?"
"That's what I am talking about."
"Ok then, I'll go cool off and then think about that. I have never rode Lachlan before."
"Take your time doing that Isabela, I'll be upstairs."
Isabela got her pink halter, she loosen it up so it can fit over Lachlan's big head. Isabela was nervous about riding him.
What if I didn't like riding him? what if he doesn't like me? my brother thinks that when I ride him. His canter is like sitting on a couch, I think he'll be fun like if I was still on Jazz.
Isabela took a deep breath and walked to Lachlan's stall, he had his tail facing toward's Isabela. She opened the stall door and walking slowly to his face, and talking to him at the same time.
"Hey Lachlan, it's your owner's sister." Isabela walked to his face without him threatening to hurt her, she put her halter on him and lead him to the stall door. She pushed it open more as she walked Lachlan to a set of crossties, Carlito told her that he doesn't like them at all "Good boy." Isabela brushed him and picked out his hooves when Stacey came by.
"How's Lachlan, Isabela?"
"He's doing good, he was nippy and having his ears back on these sets of crossties."
"I understand that Isabela, he doesn't like crossties. Just be careful."
"I will Stacey."
"Rebecca's going to ride with you, she'll be tacking up Val and she said she'll meet you outside to the outdoor arena." Stacey left when Isabela then looked at Lachlan's face, she now understands now he doesn't like crossties. She had her hand ready to pet his face when his ears were pined back, Isabela stopped moving when she knew it was time to do something about it.
"It's ok Lachlan, I am never going to hurt you." Isabela whispered to him as she slowly walked to him with her hand out, his ears went back more; Isabela stopped and stood still, she didn't move. He then stepped forward towards my hand as his ears when forward when I went slow as he moved his head down slowly as Isabela moved her hand on to his forehead. She looked as my hand was on his star, She slowly beginning to pet his face, it was a great feeling for her when Katey saw Isabela petting Lachlan after walking in the stables.
"Isabela, what are you doing?"
"Katey, I didn't hear you coming. I was petting Lachlan." Lachlan then had his ears back and almost tried to nip Katey "Don't you nip at people, that's mean."
"I'm scared Isabela, what if he nips me." Katey was scared, but Isabela knew what she just did would help Katey overcome her fear of Lachlan.
"Here, let me show you of what I just did." Isabela took Katey's hand and moved slowly to lachlan, his ears were forward the whole time. He let Katey petted his face.
"See, that's not so bad."
"You just have to move slow with him on crossties."
"Why?"
"My brother told me that he dislikes crossties, and I now understand why he gets nippy." Isabela put on her saddle pad that she uses on Jazz and her saddle on Lachlan, did his girth and was ready to bridle him.
"Isabela." Rebecca called from Val's stall "Lachlan moves his head while bridling, do you want me to help or Carlito?"
"I'll try, but maybe you can be where I am in case if he's being a pain."
"Ok." Rebecca walked towards Lachlan, Katey and Isabela.
"Ok Lachlan, I have to bridle you. And I understand that me tacking you up isn't the same as Carlito doing this." Isabela un hooked Lachlan from crossties and removed the halter, he was moving his head around. Isabela then grabbed a apple from her hand and snuck it in the bit as he moved his head for the apple, Isabela got the bridle on him without a problem.
"See, you got it."
"He was a little bit of trouble."
"It's not so bad, Jazz will not be ridden for a couple of days due that she is limping. But Lachlan will be so much fun for me." Isabela then walked Lachlan to the outdoor arena, she checked her stuff on Lachlan and then went to the mountain block. She jumped on Lachlan and started walking around "This is not so bad, I just have to get used to riding him." Isabela was walking around when Rebecca showed up, got on Val and walked to the ring where Isabela was on Lachlan.
"Isabela, with Lachlan you have to pay attention to things that are around you."
"Thanks Rebecca, you wanna ride with me?"
"Sure." Rebecca replied as she and Val walked behind Lachlan, and neither of them got close.
Isabela got Lachlan to trot, his steps while trotting we big steps. But Isabela handled that because that happens allot on Max the horse, then Isabelle got Lachlan to canter as he cantered along the fence. Isabela notice that his canter is like sitting on a couch.
"Rebecca, Lachlan's fun to ride." Isabela said as she and Lachlan jumped over a cross country jump.
"I knew you would like to ride him, he is sure allot of fun." Rebecca then started cantering on Val as Carlito watched Isabela cantering on Lachlan, she got Lachlan back into a trot and then walked as she halt when she went to see Carlito.
"You like him Isabela?"
"Sure do Carlito, he is allot of fun." Lachlan then looked at Isabela with his ears forward he then saw Casa sitting near him.
"Isabela, Casa's near my horse's nose."
"Casa get back..." Isabela was nervous when Lachlan looked at Casa, he then rubbed his head on Casa as she kissed his face.
"This is just so cute, Lachlan likes Casa."
"I think he does like her, I bet he's gotten used to her since we brought her in."
2 weeks later, Isabela and Lachlan were doing very well when Stacey came out with Jazz all tacked up in Isabela' stuff that she uses on Jazz, she saw Isabela cantering on Lachlan when he tripped and Isabela fell into mud.
"I'm ok Stacey, I'm not hurt." Isabela was lucky that her hair was in a pony tail and it did got dirty a little bit and her pants were covered in mud and so did her riding shirt.
"How's Lachlan today?"
"Very good, he sure did got dirty."
"Good thing you didn't hit a rock or something, better hit in mud than a rock." Stacey replied as Isabela got Lachlan all ready to get back on "Jazz's leg is doing much better, do you want to ride her?"
"Sure, and Stacey."
"Yes?"
"This is what I want you to do."
"What is it?"
"Do you want to ride Lachlan?" Isabela asked she knew that Stacey was wearing a helmet "You're ready so maybe you can ride him."
"Yes." Stacey jumped on Lachlan as Isabela then jumped on Jazz as they both went riding together with 2 horses.
