SUMMARY: Little Dean Winchester is trying to teach his baby brother Sammy how to walk. He just forgot that Sammy's only six months old.
Dean smiled and entered the living room of his house, noticing that his little brother was trying to play with some toys. His daddy was fast asleep on the couch, the TV was on.
"Hiya, Sammy. Wanna play?"
The baby boy just stared at his big brother, like he was waiting for him to say something more.
"We can run around the yard." Dean smiled at the baby, who was now trying to reach his big brother, making some unintelligible sounds. "Oh, yeah, good idea, Sammy! Maybe I can show you how to walk. I bet mommy will be proud. But this is a surprise, so you have to stay quiet, okay, kiddo?"
Dean took Sammy's little hand on his own, pushing him lightly, so the baby could be on his feet. Sammy was way too heavy for him, though, but the big brother was really decided to do a surprise for mommy and daddy.
"C'mon, Sammy!" Dean whispered, still holding the baby's hand and at the same time taking some steps back, which make the little one walk, even it was in a totally strange way. "Hey, yeah, you can do it, Sammy!"
Sammy continued following Dean, even though he didn't knew what he was actually doing, and kept a tight hold on his big brother's hand to avoid falling.
"I think that's enough, now you can do on your own, right?" Dean asked, stop walking.
He slowly let go of Sammy's hand, and took some steps back, his heart full of expectation. If Sammy learned how to walk properly, it would be much more fun, because they would be able to run in the yard together, play baseball, football… Dean had made tons of plans for him and Sammy since his little brother was born, and it was taking just too long for them to play.
Sammy really managed to stay on his feet for a while, and Dean jumped, smiling, thinking that his work was done. His eyes went wide open when Sammy tried to take a step in his direction, yeah, Sammy was walking!
But Sammy just lost his balance and fell, his little face hitting the ground in the process.
Dean's green eyes widened and he put his hands on his mouth.
Sammy cried and John woke up instantly, at the same time that Mary entered the living room, to find Dean looking at the baby, scared, and Sammy crying on the floor.
"Oh, dear, what happened!?" His mom took Sam in her arms, trying to make him stop crying.
John looked over at Dean.
"Is he alright?" Dean asked in a whisper.
"Yes, he's just scared." Mary said, not stopping to rock little Sammy. "What happened?"
"I was just teaching him how to walk, I just wanted him to play with me in the yard… I didn't want to hurt him…"
John smiled softly and took Dean in his arms, embracing him while looking at Mary with a sweet face.
"It's okay, Deano. You know, Sammy's too small to walk around, you know? But I bet when he's just a little older, he'll love to run with you around the yard, right?
"Alrighty, daddy… I'm sorry."
Mary put Sammy back on the floor, he had already stopped crying. Dean asked his father to let him go, and sat besides Sammy, giving him a look. Then, he leaned and kissed his baby brother's forehead, saying:
"Sorry, Sammy… I love you. I can teach you how to draw, I'm very good at this."
And he grabbed some paper and crayon.
Yeah, John and Mary knew that Dean loved his little brother very much. That house was full of love, and that was the way it should be forever…
