Helga sat staring at Arnold in Mr. Simmon's class as he talked about each and every "special" students. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment. This was so irritating. She had this song stuck in her head and couldn't get rid of it. She pulled out her little pink notebook.

Helga looked up at the boy she had loved with all her heart for years. He was so slow sometimes.

Arnold turned around. He felt someone looking at the back of his head. For a moment their eyes connected. Helga and Arnold both felt the electricity.

"What Football Head?"
Arnold sighed, "Nothing."

Why couldn't he see? She was doing this for both their goods! If anyone knew about her real feelings it would ruin them both! One day… when they were older… maybe…

There is nothing there to hide
Arnold could see it in Helga's eyes. There was something… not quite wrong but different. It was almost as if she wanted him to see something she could never say.

She knew it was more for his sake then her own that she didn't say anything. They were only in fourth grade and would get the stupid rhymes. Oh but to tell him the truth would make her so happy. She risk it all for his love.

Helga watched as Lela walked by flashing Arnold and Helga a sweet little smile. Helga saw Arnold follow her with his eyes and felt a pang of jealousy. Why couldn't he look at her like that?

Arnold looked back to see Helga glaring at Lela angrily. He couldn't figure out why. She looked so upset…
