A Thousand Words

I've never been a believer of myths. I've heard a picture can say a thousand words. I've always thought that whoever made that up would be an idiot to count all the words that come to mind from one picture. That was until I saw this picture.

That Creevy kid dropped the photo. It was of Ginny Weasley. I had never noticed her before, seeing as she was just Weasel's sister. But the picture made my jaw drop. I felt like someone had just punched me in the face. The picture was taken of her over the summer as it was by a lake. Ginny was in a black bikini. She was wet, and the way the sunlight hit her, it looked like she was glowing. She was beautiful.

I wasn't used to seeing her wearing anything besides school robes. I guess that's what I get for never paying her any mind. I couldn't believe that I was attracted to her. I began to look for her in the hallways. I had figured out her schedule within a week. I had no idea why I was following her. I was interested in her. I wanted to know things about her.

I don't know if that Lovegood friend of hers could read minds or if she was just a good guesser. But one day, a few days before Valentine's day, she told me "Ginny likes sapphires." and just walked off.

It was Valentine's Day when she received a package in the morning. There was a rose on top of the box and no card. There was just a sapphire heart on a silver chain. She came straight up to me and kissed me. Right there, in the Great Hall, in front of everyone, she kissed me. "Happy Valentine's Day, Draco." she whispered in my ear.

I still don't know how she knew it was me. She still won't tell me. Which drives me mad, as I've been married to her for ten years now. But I still remember the picture every time I hear someone say, "A picture is worth a thousand words," because that's the only picture I've ever found a thousand words for.

The End
