Naitlyn.

He was such a sweet boy

The way it seemed like he only sang to you

His voice was like honey

So soft and cute

His curls falling casually in front of his eyes

And how he pushes them away with those slim fingers

He sees you

With those piercing brown eyes

He watches you from the other side of the room

Not bothering to hide his interest

And just when you think he's ignoring you again

He smiles at you

The smile you know

So true, yet so betraying

And so, so addicting

How long you've been waiting for his stare

How long you've wanted this

But in the back of your head you know what's happening

Because you know him

You know his tricks

You know that smile

You know those eyes

And you see that he notices the change in your face

And the warmth is gone

His eyes are cold

Because he realizes he lost tonight

And you smile at him

Soft and sweet

And you push your curls casually away from your eyes

And you watch him

With those piercing brown eyes you have

His fists clench

His mouth is no longer a smile

But is turned into a blank stripe on his face

And you laugh at loud

He wasn't really a sweet boy

And he never thought of you when he sang

His voice wasn't like honey

And it never was soft or cute

Finally you start to realize

And you walk over to him

And just before you leave

You whisper in his ear

"I see now."

And you do

Because all this time

You imagined someone who wasn't there

You imagined a boy that cared

You imagined a boy who loved you

You imagined you were still a little girl

A princess

You imagined he was a prince

Dear, Caitlyn

It's time to grow up
