Lovely
Author's note: Hi hi! This is a simple story I wrote in honor of Valentine's Day! It's not too long, but it's not so short, either! I hope you enjoy it! Happy Valentine's Day!
Love was in the air in the Mushroom Kingdom. Couples everywhere were celebrating Valentine's Day, the day where they could shower their lovers with kisses and candies. Peach was very excited that Valentine's Day had finally come. She was currently in the kitchen, baking heart shaped cookies, when she heard a knock on the door. "I wonder who that could be?" the princess wondered. She skipped over to the door, and opened it.
What she saw made her blush and smile. Mario, her boyfriend, was standing in the doorway. In his arms was a big red heart shaped box of chocolates, two bright pink balloons, with one saying, "Happy Valentines, baby!" There were also tons of pretty pastel cards, and a bouquet of her favorite flowers, peach blossoms. "Oh, Mario!" Peach cried out happily, and threw her arms around the plumber. "Happy Valentines!"
Mario grinned. "Uh… could I come in please?" he asked. Peach nodded. "Of course!" She led Mario into the living room, where he sat down all of Peach's gifts, then plopped down on the couch next to Peach. The delightful smell of cookies was in the air. Mario sighed happily. "Are those cookies I smell?" he asked. "Uh huh!" Peach replied. She walked into the kitchen, and came back with a platter of cookies. "Would you like some?" she asked cheerily. Mario grinned, and grabbed himself a generous handful. "Thanks!" he said. Peach smiled.
Peach was sitting on the couch watching Mario eat his cookies, when she realized something. I haven't given Mario anything yet! Quietly, she hopped off the couch, and tiptoed upstairs to her room. She closed the door, and flopped down on her bed, where she began making glittery cards, and sewing up teddy bears. Finally, she came downstairs. "Happy Valentine's, you!" she said, and gave Mario tons of cards, and a cute little teddy bear. Mario grinned, and gave Peach a hug. "Aww, babe!" he said. "You didn't have to do that!" Now it was Peach's turn to grin. "Oh!" she said. "But I wanted to!" Mario hugged her again, and then planted a gentle kiss on her lips. Peach blushed. "So," she said, eyeing the teddy bear she had made her boo, "Whatcha gonna name your teddy bear?" Mario looked at Peach. "What?" she said and giggled. "I'm gonna name him Peach Jr!" Peach squealed. "Ooh, yay! Now Mr. Cuddles will have a playmate!" Peach was referring to her stuffed teddy bear, which she had since the day she was born. He was a small cream-colored bear, with cute black eyes, and a warm smile.
"I guess he will!" Mario replied. "Oh! That reminds me!" Mario dug around in his pocket, and held out two red tickets. "The Valentine's carnival is in town. I thought maybe you'd like to go with me?" Mario blushed, and shuffled his feet. Peach chuckled. "Why, I'd love to go!" Mario's eyes lit up. "Really?" he said. Peach nodded. "Sure! Why not?" Mario jumped up in the air. "Wahoo!" he exclaimed. "So, I'll pick you up around two o'clock, okay?" "Alright!" Peach said, and gave the thumbs up sign. Mario smiled, then walked out the door, "Bye, Peach!" he yelled over his shoulder. "Bye bye!" she called back. Peach leaned against the wall, and sighed blissfully. "Valentine's Day," she said to herself, "Is a wonderful day!"
