I love you, just three little words. But the moment I say them, the world changes like magic. Today I'm gonna say them to you. I stood over my ex gang leader on the ground as I just beat him up in a fight.
"I'll get you for this Rick!" He said as I kicked his face as I walked away to my motorcycle.
"Yeah! Time for the badass to get the girl!" I said happily as I rode toward Hollywood Arts.
I arrived at school on an early Friday morning, I usually hated school, especially snobby schools like Hollywood Arts, but I'm actually excited to be here.
Once I parked my motorcycle, I took my helmet off and put on my sunglasses. I looked around to see other students. Guess I better figure out which classes I'm going to be in, since I'm new. I walked in the school hallway, man this place is huge. Where the hell is the administration office? I sighed.
"Hey Cat!" I looked up to see a very cute redhead talking to a brunette hair girl. I stood there nervously.
"Holy crap it's her" I mumbled to myself. "I gotta be in her class!" I threw a victory punch in the air and accidentally knocked someone out. I looked down to see who it was. It was some nerdy guy with glasses. Crap.
"Hey you! The one with the sunglasses! Principal's Office now!" a teacher told me.
Great, five minutes here I'm already in trouble. Minutes later I'm in the principal's office waiting for whoever to walk in. An African American lady walked in and sat down across from me. She must be the principal.
"So you must be Rick Adams." She asked as I nodded. She raised her eyebrow as she looked over me.
"Looking at your past records, you seem to be quite the trouble maker." I nodded in agreement as she scanned over my records.
"You know Mr. Adams judging your criminal records. I'm not sure if we should let you attend here. Especially if you are already punching students on your first day here." Damn, she thinks I punched that guy on purpose. For once, I didn't punch anyone on purpose.
"Listen uh Mrs...? " I waited for a reply.
"Helen". She replied.
"Right, Mrs. Helen, that whole punching thing was an accident. I got excited about something and didn't see that nerd." She looked at me angrily.
"Mr. Adams I don't know what kind of school you went to last year, but there's a no violence and no name calling policy here. Do it again and I shall punish you. Do I make myself clear?" I nodded as she handed me a piece of paper and a lock for my locker.
"This is your class schedule and your locker combination. Now please leave. I'm very busy today." I nodded as I left her office.
I took out my schedule and looked it over. Stage fighting? What the hell is stage fighting? That damn principal probably put me in there because of my tough guy act. I sighed as I put away my schedule. I decided to figure out where my locker was, the paper Ms. Helen gave me, told me to decorate my locker. What a joke, like I'm going to decorate my locker.
I arrived at my locker, it was next to a light blue locker. I wonder if its Cat's locker, but I doubt it. I sighed as I opened my locker to put my things away.
"You know you could have said you're sorry, you jerk." I closed my locker to see the nerd I hit earlier. He opened the light blue locker, it must have been his. I just stood there as I glared at him.
"Anyway I'm Sinjin, what's yours?" I just stood there glaring at him, ignoring his question. I don't know why he's trying to be friendly with me. I hit him and now he wants to me my friend. What kind of weird friend logic is that? I sighed.
"If I tell you my name will it shut you up?" I replied angrily. It's bad enough we have to be locker neighbors, but now he wants to be my friend. Fantastic. He stood there, smiling at me and nodded.
"It's Rick. Now leave me alone." I replied as he looked at me like a creep. Man this guy creeps me out. As I started to walk away he grabbed my shoulder trying to stop me.
"Wait, I have a question" Before I could answer, I flipped him over my shoulder as he surprised me. Crap! He just laid there unconscious. I looked over at his lifeless body as people gathered around. Mrs. Helen then approached me disappointed and handed me a piece of paper.
"A piece of paper? What's this for?" I asked waiting for a reply. "I'm sorry Rick, but it's a detention slip. You are chasing to much trouble on the first day as a new student. It's the only choice I have, it's a detention on Saturday." she exclaimed. Fantastic, I thought. I'm here a day and already have a Saturday detention. The bell rung as everyone hurried to their classes, except for a few students. It looked like some dude was choking on something.
"Hey Robbie you OK? We are going to be late for class!" I looked up to see Cat trying to help Robbie along with a few other students. I hid behind a wall to eavesdrop. A few minutes later, everyone was yelling at the guy who was choking, turned out he was eating a pretzel. I could tell they were all late to whatever class they had. Apparently the vice principal was there scolding them.
"You all have Saturday detention!" he exclaimed. A few minutes later, everyone left leaving me alone. Crap, me and Cat both have Saturday detention on the same day? I could picture it now.
"Oh Rick you're so bad! I think I'm falling in love with you." she would say with her arms around me super romantic. Hehe I thought as I happily skipped to class.
The next day, I woke up to my alarm. I reached out and turned it off as I got out of bed. Today is the day me and Cat have Saturday detention. I was so nervous I barely could walk to my bathroom.
It was barely 6am. I usually don't wake up this early, but what can I do? I have detention.
"You know getting a detention on your first day at school isn't the smartest thing to do you know." I looked up to see my older cousin, Beth, walking in the room, taking a seat across me.
I sighed. "You really have to nag me huh?"
"Yes Rick, someone has to. I was the only person who would take you in after your parents died." Beth took me in about a year ago after my parents were mysteriously murdered. I have still yet to figure out who murdered them.
"Don't remind me of my parents. Look, that whole detention incident was just a big misunderstanding." I replied as I finished my food and headed toward the door.
"You know Rick, I still don't understand why you wanted to attend this Hollywood Arts School. You never liked those types of snobby people and you have no interest in acting or singing." I shook my head in disappointment and ignored my cousins comment. If I ever told her about my past with Cat, she'll never hear the end of it. I left the apartment, hoped on my motorcycle, and headed toward the school
