Hey!

This is just the product of inspiration from a dream I had a few nights ago. I hope you like it cause there will be more to come. :)

Prologue

Dust flew in the air as I pushed open the trap door to the attic. I climbed up the latter and stood on the creaking floor. I honestly don't know why I am up here. Maybe because it is peaceful, or maybe it is just the memories that linger as I look at these items. But, in all truthfulness, it is to get away from the chaos brewing downstairs. My sister's wedding is next week and she hasn't decided the table settings she wants for the reception. Between the stressed screams of my sister and the insistent prodding of my mother, the pressure was just too much. So I decided to get away for a few hours. Which lead me here for some odd reason. I pushed a strand of my copper red hair out of my blueish-green eyes and walked slowly across the room towards a beautifully carved dresser in the corner. The lighting was so dim that I didn't see a loose board in the floor, so I tripped and fell into a pile of boxes. They fell and the contents were dumped everywhere. After wiping the dust off my jeans, I took a look at the items spread across the floor. I knelt and began picking them up and placing them back in the boxes until a leather bound notebook caught my attention. The leather was worn and the paper was faded, so obviously, it was old. I set it aside to read later and finished putting the items in the box. I also found a pile of letters that were a little torn, but readable, and set them next to the notbook. I decided to check out the rest of the attic later, and made my way to my room. Once I closed the door I was surrounded by wonderful silence. I sat on my window seat and carefully opened the notebook. An old faded picture fell out and landed on my lap. It was of a beautiful girl who looked to be around nineteen. She had long curly hair, a petite figure and a gorgeous face. I slipped the picture into the back of the notebook and began to read.

It was a diary! I ran my finger along the faded pages. The date written was for July 15, 1951...
