(My friend needs to explain charka to me, so Fallen Comet will have to wait. I'm tweaking the next chapter of over the moons, and there's a tow new Akatsuki based fics on the way, please enjoy this small offering in the mean time.)
Having removed the last of my acussed school uniform I threw myself on my bed and moaned. Then I decided to try something that hadn't ever worked before. I tried to strike a deal with Reality.
"Look, I know I call you a bitch and all but if you'd just up and let me have an adventure maybe I won't wuss so much. Or at least wuss about more interesting things, like the terrible situations I'd have gotten into."
Nothing happened, no portals, no sudden magic flash. I tried a new tactic.
"No? Well then why don't you pass me on to someone else? Then they can listen to my bemoaning all the time and you can get on with you job. We'll both be happy."
Nothing still.
"Come on, scared of losing one of the few people that actually think of you as a anthropomorphic personification? Give me something here. A sign that you agree? Knock twice for no, three times for yes. The question is, will you hurry up and give me the adventure I crave?"
The front door banged three times. I got up with an angry groan dragged on a plain black shirt and shuffled over to let the cat in, mangy fat fleabag that he was, I loved him so.
"Bugger off ugly."
The cat padded in happy as moo, a black furry fudge bunny as he headed for the food bowl. I went to shut the door and stopped. There was a big cardboard box, that sat there, looking big and cube-y and promising something interesting and lots of boxy fun on the side.
"Don't I have to sign something?" I'd never gotten a delivery like this, but I thought there may be something I had to sign. No answer.
"Cool then." I tried to pick it up, but it weighed a ton. "If I could get it through the door I can push it, maybe-" I ran out and somehow muscled it up the two steps two the door, I shut the door and pushed the box to the centre of the lounge-room, grinning madly. Then I picked at the tape with my fingers for a minute, before skipping off to get a knife. What's it going to be? A TV? A alien artefact? An ambushing ninja? A rocket gnome? A sewing machine? A dragon? I skipped back at stared at it, apprehensive of what it's contents might mean.
