The cake that Hunny normally loved so much no longer tasted the same to him.
The sweetness of the layers intertwined with the strawberries seemed stale, though it had been freshly baked.
But if he thought hard enough, he would have realized that the first time he had tried this brand of cake was with a certain commoner girl in high school.
After that, he always ate this brand with her, and only her. When she was not there, he ate his normal cakes, because this was the special one that he saved specially for her. He wasn't sure if she knew that.
Perhaps if he had thought hard enough, he would have realized that it was because she was gone now, out of his life – forever. Simple as that.
But he couldn't.
And instead, he forced slice after slice into his small frame, wondering why the taste had went wrong.
