Bitten by a werewolf
At a young age,
Alone and depressed,
Hogwarts helped turn the page.
I made three true friends:
Peter, Sirius and James;
They didn't tease me,
Or call me names.
When of course they found out
About my "furry little mess"
They became animagi
To take away my stress.
When we were young,
We had so much fun,
And continued to do so,
Until James had a son.
Still that couldn't part us,
And even through a war,
We remained together,
We were best friends, us four.
One fateful Halloween night,
James and Lily died,
Peter had betrayed them,
Sirius and I cried.
Sirius took the reckless path,
But I never would have dared.
The Marauders were broken,
And I seemed to be the only one that cared.
But then by some odd
Twist of fate,
I taught Harry when
He seemed to be Sirius' bait.
But that was all a misunderstanding,
And so it seemed to me,
Harry had replaced James,
And we were best friends, us three.
But the tranquility, it seemed,
Was only temporary,
Sirius was murdered,
I was left to protect Harry.
It was in this time,
I married my wife,
We had a child,
And she was the love of my life.
Sadly our time together,
Didn't last.
Our days were numbered,
And they were going by fast.
In the battle of Hogwarts,
I lost my life,
And then, tragically,
So did my wife.
And after Harry
Shed all of his tears,
He took care of my son Teddy,
And that is the story of my years.
