Waking up alone
It was something to remember
And then I rolled over on the
Bed the following morning
And you were gone…
I tried to find traces of you
In the room, in the apartment
We were staying at but there,
Was nothing left of you except
A picture of you in your robes;
It was one of your finest moments,
And darkest hours as you stood there
Defying the rules set down that you
Were expected to obey and I wanted
To laugh in their faces at the time;
But then I had to realize that you
Were gone and you weren't
Returning home to me
And I wept when I
Thought of that…
