"Red or green?" Beverly mused aloud.
Theatrical tech week, it seemed, was taking its toll on his lover.
Jean-Luc poured her another cup of tea. "Beverly, you're thinking aloud again," he told her.
She made a face at him. "Green or red?" she wondered louder.
Enough was enough. "Beverly," he said firmly. "You're obsessing. I'm certain whatever color stockings you chose to hang upon it, the fireplace set will look grand."
She gave him a little smile. "Why Jean-Luc," she said. "Those aren't the stockings I was thinking about at all."
He smiled back. "Green then," he said. She laughed.
