Disclaimer: Kaito and his lipstick belong to Aoyama sensei, all hail!

Kaito Kuroba loved makeup.

He had the makeup skills of a professional and had a better fashion sense than most of the people his age…or any age. Of course, this was probably because of his "night job", being the most internationally wanted phantom has its responsibilities.

Hakuba Saguru loved detective work, which was probably what led him to chase after the infamous phantom thief 1412, but researching his makeup techniques was just crazy. Or was it?

What led them both to the makeup store might have been coincidental.

Hakuba walked into the beauty shop, just as Kuroba walked into the beauty shop.

"Hello Kuroba, what might you be doing here? Searching for makeup for the next heist perhaps?"

"I could ask you the same thing Hakuba, what's a well known detective like you looking at lipstick for? Going twisted are you?"

The teenagers' eyes shared a deadlock for all of two seconds. Kuroba broke it.

"Getting lipstick for my mom, I'm…ahem she's practicing her makeup" Kuroba said flatly while casually choosing some different shades of lipstick.

After Kuroba had purchased his items, Hakuba went over to the shelf where Kaito had gotten his lipstick.

Something caught his eye.

Hakuba almost choked from what he read.

Kuroba got a text message that night. It was from Hakuba, it read: 1412, a good magician always checks the ingredients on his makeup. – looking forward to your next disguise.

Kaito replied with: I'm sorry, you must have the wrong number, I don't wear makeup.

He sent the message.

Then he read what was on the lipstick container: Pearl Essence – contains fish scales.

Most of the neighborhood was awakened by a loud scream…the neighborhood was 5 miles away.

Hakuba noted that kid rarely ever used female disguises again.

Fin.

My first fanfic! Hurrah! Please go easy on the flames, I'm not fireproof. Anyway, inspired by an article about fishy lipstick O.o and how Kaito is terrified of fish. R&R please!
