And The Rain Keeps Pouring

Naruto was walking quietly back to his own apartment, with a bag of groceries in his hands. He sighed. It was raining cats and dogs (not literally- but Naruto always found this expression so cute… heh, cats and dogs!), but it didn't matter that much, he was nearly home anyway.

How many months had it been since he came back? Oh. Right. Two months, eight days, twenty hours and thirty-one seconds. Not that Naruto cared about the bastard.

Naruto figured he had made that clear in the last two months- after all, he had ignored the bastard most of the time. He would occasionally speak, but only when spoken to and whenever he saw him on the streets of Konoha, Naruto would quickly turn around and make a run for it. But it was so hard. The blonde could barely refrain himself from tackling the other boy and hugging him and telling him that he would never let the black-haired boy go again- that Naruto would be there for him.

But it wasn't that easy.

After all, how could he forgive Sasuke? The bastard tried to kill him, for God's sake! And he hadn't even apologised yet, something you should definitely do after betraying your village, right? While Shikamaru, Choji, Neji and Kiba almost died to get you back, not to mention Fuzzy-Brows and No-Brows! It was just making Naruto so mad, when he thought about it again. All Sasuke did was train, ever since he got back. He never talked to anyone- not even Sakura, who tried to visit him every single day. He just pushed her away, as if she meant nothing to him.

And then he saw him.

He was standing in front of Naruto's apartment building, shivering. His black clothes were soaked, as was his hair and… well, everything else. Naruto glanced at him, briefly wondering what to do. Was Sasuke waiting for him? In the rain? He couldn't be, who would be stupid enough to even do such a thing? At that point, Sasuke fell to his knees, exhausted. Did he train the whole day again? And they call me stupid…

"Sasuke!" Naruto yelled. He was Sasuke and he had hurt him, but right now it didn't matter. What mattered was Sasuke and that he needed his help. He couldn't just leave him lying there.

"Ah, so you're awake," Naruto said dryly, as he heard a low grunt coming from the other boy's lips. Sasuke immediately sat up straight and was about to jump out of the bed, before a hand stopped him. "Just lie down and rest. Idiot- what were you doing there anyway? Honestly, I can't believe you actually-"

"Naruto," Sasuke started, eyes cast downwards. "I-I'm sorry." He didn't need to say anymore- Naruto knew it was hard enough for him to even say those two simple words. Little did Sasuke know that what he had just said, meant a lot to Naruto and so, without a warning, Naruto jumped on top of Sasuke and gave him the World's Biggest Hug (well, that's what he called it). Sasuke just let him. If it had been three years back, Naruto would be in the hospital right about now, being treated by Tsunade.

But at the moment, he needed this. He needed Naruto acceptance.

The blonde merely sighed in contentment, as he felt strong arms wrapping around him securely, pulling him on top of Sasuke. They stayed like that for a long time and neither spoke- though at some point, Naruto thought Sasuke had said something.

"I only came back for you."
