AN: Are you ready to jump? Spoils both finales. Italics are the song lyrics. Short one shot.

Jump

Are you ready to jump?

That's what the little voice inside asks.

He teeters on the edge of the bridge. The same bridge that saw the end of his mother. It's the only logical place to do it. For him anyway.

He empties his flask and drops it into the ocean. The black sky makes it invisible. But he hears it crash into the water.

All he had was Veronica. Now she accuses him of murder. What else does he have? Lilly is dead. So is mother. Duncan will never speak to him again. He couldn't care talking to his sister…or his father.

Are you ready to jump?

The voice asks again. Would he be standing here if he wasn't?

His phone rings again, for the third time in a row. He ignores it and looks down again.

Get ready to jump.

The voice pisses him off. It's like it's tempting, leading him to his doom. But he doesn't care. The voice didn't get him onto the ledge. He did. He drove to the PCH. He climbed up. He drank from his flask.

Yes, I'm ready to jump, just take my hands.

When he wants to do it most is when the roar of the engines banishes the voice from his head. He snarks, kicks Weevil, knocking him out cold. He is grabbed and thrown to the ground. The bikers kick the life out of him. Over their grunting and laughing, he hears the voice again.

Don't ever look back, oh baby.

The world darkens around him.

We learned our lesson from the start.

Cassidy looks over the side of Neptune Grand. The sirens sing out. He hears Veronica whimper, Logan making soothing noises. He looks at them.

The more that you wait, the more time that you waste.

He climbs onto the edge. Logan notices and moves towards him, away from Veronica's grasp.

"Beaver, don't!" He shouts out. Cassidy turns around, tears he held beginning to streak down his face.

"My name…is Cassidy!" He cries, shaking his hands. The look on Logan's face is of understanding and...pity?

"Cassidy, don't." Logan replies softly, his face still shocked.

Get ready to, are you ready?

"Why not?"

Logan looks blankly at him, struggling to come up with a reason.

Are you ready to jump?

"That's what I thought." Cassidy takes a step back and off the roof.

Get ready to jump.

Tires screech, a horn blares.

Don't ever look back, oh baby.

Logan stares in horror. Veronica takes hold of him and cries into his chest. Logan kisses the top of her head.

Are you ready?
