Bright Pink Umbrella

I like being underneath an umbrella, sometimes. I mean, its great standing in the rain and getting wet… but today there's no one to piss off by acting like a child, and I have a day of working ahead of me so, I opt for my favourite, bright pink umbrella and leave the house at a meandering, snail's pace.

When you're underneath an umbrella you're free to sort of take your guard down. Being the Greatest Female Ninja ever, this is definitely a good thing; I'm always way too alert.

I like that I can see the path directly in front of me, it means that I won't walk into anyone, but I don't have to bother looking at my surroundings and thinking how pretty it is.

It's nice to be able to retreat into my own world, I'm sure everyone feels the same.

As I walk through a deserted alleyway which I know only too well leads out into a busy street, all I can hear is the echoing of my feet on the wet tar. It's sort of like a beat… helps me think.

As the alleyway opens out into the street I can hear the thousands of beats from others feet, but I don't walk faster. I want to appreciate the rain.

Manoeuvring in a massive crowd like this whilst holding an umbrella which really restricts your line of sight is not the easiest of tasks, but again, it's nice. You don't have to scrutinize other people's faces and think bitchy or jealous thoughts about them, and they can't gaze at you openly and mutter to their friend or show very obviously their bitchy 'she's a freak' kind of thoughts.

I like not being obtrusive sometimes, contrary to popular belief.

How dorky can I sound in my mind!

It's quite funny really, watching this sea of black umbrellas moving slowly and with difficulty. All those suits off to their firms, looking the same as they curse their slow way there. I bet they regret not taking the tube… heh, like that's any different.

It's even funnier to suddenly spot (as if you could miss it) this anonymous bright pink umbrella ambleinto the midst of this, what could even be described as frantic crowd of 'individuals', and work its way round as a drop in the ocean.

It seemingly has no purpose, it's just merrily strolling… it'd be interesting to see who's under there, maybe a slightly extrovert suit… nah, couldn't be.

I like being up here, watching everything, being able to see for miles, it makes a change from my normal life in which I usually can't see my own hand if I hold it away at arms length.

You never know what'll happen in the future, I think as I pore over the winding umbrella, maybe I'll meet that person one day… maybe they're a really cool person.

My god, how soppy am I in my mind!

Well I hope you liked it! It's not supposed to be set in any specific place; I wanted you to be able to make up your own minds about wherever you see Yuffie naturally or whatever. There's no set character apart from Yuffie, I mean I tried to hint at it being Riku… but hey, it's your decision.

I do not own any of the characters in this fanfiction. Gonna go post this now. Mwahahaaa.
