A/N: I just watched a rerun episode of the Prom, and I had to write this. Hope you like it.
An Unexpected Twist At the Prom
They were dancing at the prom. Angel said that it was just for the night, and she knew that he would be leaving after graduation. But she couldn't think about that, all she could think now was the fact that she was in the arms of the only man that she had ever loved, and she didn't want to let go. Why did he have to be all noble and think that he knew what was best for her. He was her heart, her soul. She didn't care about anything else but the way that she felt complete when she was with Angel.
Buffy was clutching Angel, and then she couldn't hold back anymore, she cried. And just as a tear landed on Angel's cold skin, he collapsed. "Angel!" He looked up at her, and inhaled. Buffy couldn't believe it, he had just breathed in, a real breath not a fake one that he usually did around people. She reached for his neck. He was warm, and she felt a pulse! "Your alive!"
"Hey beautiful." Angel said, looking up at her. "I need oxygen now…" He said reminding her, that she was crushing his stomach with her elbow.
"Sorry. How?" Buffy asked.
"We did it." Willow said from behind them. "When I saw the pain that you were in, I went to Giles, and all of us, Xander, Oz, Giles, Me, even Cordelia, we searched through every book in Giles' library, as well as everything on the internet, and we found a spell. It said that when a vampire has a soul, and is in the presence of the other half to his soul, he will become human with a simple potion, and an incantation. And whala, normal human Angel."
At this, Buffy turned to Angel, "So does this mean that you won't be walking out on me now?"
"I don't know what my future lies, all I know that It contains you." At that Angel took Buffy's ring which she had left on the floor when he had come back from the hell dimension. And he had kept it with him for every minute until now. "So, will you take back the claudel ring? And think of it a promise ring of a future that I can now give you?"
"Yes Angel, so tomorrow, picnic?"
"Sounds great. I will give you everything. But what if I can't protect you?"
"Willow, Xander, and Giles all fight evil without superhuman strength. We'll train together, and we will fight together, you will just have to relearn your human limits. You aren't intimidated by me now?"
"Never. Would you like to dance?"
"Yes, please." With that the reunited couple moved onto the dance floor followed by Willow and Oz, Xander and Anya, and Cordelia and Wesley. Giles watched the couples from the side, thinking about Jenny, and how he had honored her life, and had revenge on the demon responsible by getting rid of it. The fact that Buffy got the love of her life, was simply an added bonus.
