"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Julia! Happy birthday to you!"

The chants of 12 little kids filled the Goldsworthy home. Smiles were plastered on each and every kids face. Today was a happy day. Julia's 5th birthday. Clare Goldsworthy, her mother, cut a neat little slice for each kid. The ending of the party was near. Mothers & Fathers came to collect their children. Today was a day full of games and prizes and tons of fun. But finally, her party was coming to an end. Parents began ringing the doorbell, ready to pick up their kids. Everyone said goodbye to Julia, hugging her and wishing her the best. After everyone left, Clare smiled to herself, happy she made it through the day. Everything was perfect until Julia asked the question. The one dreaded question Clare had been avoiding since Julia's first birthday.

"Mommy, where's daddy?"

The room fell silent. Clare smiled sadly.

She didn't know which was to put this. She wasn't prepared to ruin Julia's birthday.

"Julia, can we discuss this tomorrow? Please?" Clare pleaded, hoping to keep her birthday happy and cheerful.

"Please mommy. I wanna know. Everyone talks about how gweat their daddy's are. I wanna know about my daddy." Julia asked, her bright green eyes shining.

Clare sighed. There was no way around this.

"Sweetheart, daddy is gone." Clare said, trying to keep it simple, hoping she wouldn't ask anymore questions.

The curious 5 year old cocked her brow. "Where did he go?"

"He's in heaven baby doll." Clare choked out, trying not to cry. Every time she though about Eli, she felt her heart breaking.

"Can we go get him?" Julia asked. Her innocence made Clare want to cry. She knelt down and ran her fingers through Julia's long black hair. It scared her how much she looked like Eli.

"Sweetie. Your daddy, Eli, is in heaven. He was sick. He died a year after you were born."

"Mommy. What's died?"

"Julia, sweetie, it means daddy isn't ever coming back."

Tears welled up in the little girls eyes.

"But they have medicine to make sick people all better. Why didn't he take any?"

"Sometimes there is no medicine to make someone feel better. But just remember, daddy loves you so much."

Clare felt each and every single part of her heart break. Julia shouldn't have to deal with this. Its too much. No five year old should have to deal with death.

"Mommy, will I ever see him again?" Julia asked, tears streaming down her pale face.

"One day. Someday in heaven." Clare said, hugging her tightly.

"One day."

Okay so I know this was horrible x_x But I was bored and decided I needed a new story up. Don't kill me? K. Thanks. Love you guys!
