A muted wail and a sigh of resentment echoed from the bathroom. Dean felt his fingers clenched around his comic book and fought the urge to stand and run to the sound of his brother's wail.But Dad had decided, now that Sam was three, he would take a bath without his brother. So, Dean was sitting on the bed, trying to ignore Sammy's panic. And failing.
Another cry rang out and with it, Dean's resolve was shattered.
Ignoring the glare he received from his father, Dean clambered into the tub behind Sam, fully clothed, and pulled his brother close, holding him tightly until the squalls stopped and Sam started to play happily with his ducky.
With a sigh, John threw his hands up in frustration and walked away
