"Good morning class," Mrs. TUTWILLER said

"Good morning Ms. T," the class repeated

"Now today we will be learning about something that I feel is very important. We are going to learn about social skills. There has been a lot of fighting going on between all of you kids and you will be benefited by this lesson"
She paired the kids up into teams of two and all they had to do for today was talk. Baily was teamed up with Cody.

"So," Cody said, "are you still mad at me about the-"

"I just don't understand why you would make fun of me," Baily said, "that hurt

"Baily," he said, "I wasn't making fun of you. I was trying to impress you. When I saw your dating answers-"
Baily put her head in her hands. She felt like the worst friend in the world.

"I'm sorry Cody," she said, "I shouldn't have gotten mad at you. If you want… you can get mad at me"
Cody looked at Baily like she had 2 heads.

"It's impossible to get mad at you Baily," he said, "I love you"

"You… you what?"

"Baily… I love you"
Baily didn't say another word. Instead she cupped his chin and kissed Cody.

The assignment continued for awhile and then Mrs. TUTWILLER dismissed the class. Baily stayed to help Mrs. TUTWILLER clean up the classroom.

"Ms. TUTWILLER," she asked, "can I ask you a question… as a… friend not as a student"

"Um… well sure Baily," she said, "are you having a personal problem or something?"

"I'm worried about you," Baily said, "you seem a little downcast lately."
Ms. TUTTLEWILLER smiled.

"Baily that's really sweet of you," she said, "yes I'm okay"

"No you're not. Come on. Let me be your friend and tell me what's going on"

"Okay," Ms. TUTTLEWILLER said, "I'm… well can you keep a secret?"

"Of course"

"I just found out last night… I'm pregnant"
Baily hugged her.

"How do you feel about this," Baily asked

"I feel terrible and I feel wonderful about it at the same time. I mean I love this baby and I didn't even know he or she was coming until last night. But I don't know how I'm going to take care of this baby. I don't know how I'm going to take care of his or her physical, emotional and other needs"

"Ms. TUTTLEWILER when I was born my parents didn't have two nickels to rub together. It didn't matter. They did right by me and you will do right by him or her"
