Hide and Seek At Wayne Manor
Bruce Wayne sprinted down the hallway at high speed as a fierce lightning storm raged outside.
He was in the midst of playing Hide and Seek with Selina Kyle who had given him a thirty second head start before he left the study which was where she was counting to thirty.
After making a quick right turn, he sprinted into his room and headed straight for his closet.
He opened the door, and closed it behind him before hunkering down on the floor.
"All I have to do is stay in here quietly and I'll win," Bruce said to himself.
After what felt like an eternity, Bruce began to grow tired and fell asleep.
Victory is as good as mine, he thought to himself.
Four minutes later.
In the middle of his slumber, something started softly knocking on the door and making noise.
It wasn't Selina or Alfred, but whatever it was caused Bruce to wake up.
"Meow, Meow."
"Hmm, how did a cat get into my room?" Bruce asked as he got up and turned the doorknob.
The moment he opened the door, the gray furry cat walked and meowed again.
"Well hello kitty, how did you get all the way up here," Bruce asked in a low tone of voice.
The cat started purring as it brushed up against him.
Seeing that there was no harm in petting it, he proceed to do so completely unaware that someone was sneaking up behind him.
Suddenly, the cat grew tired of being petted and fled from the closet.
"Hey, come back, Bruce said as he rose to his feet and gave chase.
Shortly after emerging from the closet, he felt himself getting tripped up by something and he landed face first on the floor.
Oww," Bruce groaned as he rolled onto his back.
"Easy as pie," said the person standing over him as a flash of lightning illuminated the room.
It was none other than Selina.
"How did you know what was room I was in?"
"Simple silly, I let one of my cats in through the study window after you ran off and I had it follow your scent trail. Did you really think I was going to waste time searching every square inch of your house?
"Well I didn't see this coming."
"Of course you didn't. I had you beat before I even started counting, and that will always be case not just in Hide and Seek but in everything. I will always be one step ahead of you.
"That may be so, but I'm pretty sure I'll win next time,"
"I'm sure you will, Bruce," Selina replied then extended her hand to help Bruce up which he accepted.
But as he got him back on his feet, she gave him a piece of advice.
"Always maintain awareness of your surroundings, kiddo."
"Noted Well I'm ready to go to bed now," Bruce said then let out a yawn.
"I can sense your exhaustion. I'll pull your bedsheets back so you can hop in."
"Thank you Selina," Bruce replied.
After Selina pulled the bedsheets back, Bruce climbed into bed and she put them back over him.
"Good night Selina."
"Good night my little Bruceling, she said with an affectionate tone in her voice. A tone that she rarely used.
After giving Bruce a pat on the head, she picked up her cat and left the room.
