As soon as the words leave the committee leader's mouth, Sarek knows it is over.
"Spock," he says warningly, knowing deep down Spock hears nothing, seeing the anger in his (human) eyes. "You have agreed to honor the Vulcan way."
Even as he says it, he knows he has lost the battle- he never had a chance.
It is logical, Sarek muses as he exits the chamber, that a child of two worlds can only truly belong among the stars.
