I know not a lot of people read my Gabe/Jo one-shots but I just had to do this.

Everyone knew that Gabe hated Jo Keener.
Everyone knew that Jo Hated Gabe Duncan.
Everyone knew that they hated each other.
In the middle of the day, Gabe would start insulting Jo about whatever she was doing. Then Jo would insult him back and start to hurt him and maybe break one of his limbs. Then Gabe would pull a prank on her, and the war would go on.
Everyone knew that they shouldn't interfere when they were fighting. The teachers had even stopped caring. It happened every day.
Everyone knew that the pranks and fights usually happened when Gabe was talking to another girl, or when Jo was talking to another boy.
Of course, their history was very mysterious to most people. Kit said that they started fighting when Jo came to the school and apparently Jo came over to Gabe's house several times, And it usually never ended well.
But there was that time, that one time when they didn't even insult each other once. They didn't even talk to each other. Every time they came face to face, they were blushing and they left. But that only lasted a week, then it was back to the old fighting again.

But no one was surprised when they started dating in Freshman year.
