Resa's POV

The sky was blue. As blue as the small fountain my sisters and I waded in.

"Navasuna, Annaresa, Alliana", Shetabi called "Ma wants us" I could not imagine what for. Perhaps, I thought, it is time for combat training? No it was far too early. We came to our city house.

"Ma what is it?" Tabi asked. "Yeah Ma it is too early for lessons" added Nava.

"Children I have terrible news. You all remember the story of the rebellion?"

"Yes ma" we answered in unison.

"Well apparently some renegade lurin have decided your Aunt Dove is not a good queen. You must leave the Copper Isles immediately. My brother in Tortall has agreed to take you in."

"But Ma" I protested

"No buts Resa. You leave in 24 hours. Prepare your things."

Tabi's POV

Mother was definite in her opinions, just like our famous grandmother. I suppose now we will go to our pirates swoop relatives, my uncles, Lord Thom and Alan. It will not be fun. I love it here in the Copper Isles. I wonder if ma will let me take Ilia with me. She is my flying horse.

Alianne of Tainar, commonly known as Aly, sighed. As the spy master of the Copper Isles, she was the first to know of the on- coming rebellion. Some lurin it seemed, were still "upset" about the raka rebellion. She was especially worried about sending Resa and Tabi. The twins. They were young. Only 9 years old. They would not understand the hate they might see in Tortall for simply being the spy master of another countries children. So it begins.
