Lost Princess
* The Land of Vestroia
The world was no longer what it used to be. After four consecutive world wars that broke off across the land, there was nothing more but to come together as a community and relieve the peaceful times that once reigned across the land. That's how New Vestroia came to be. Divided into seven different lands, each with their own king and queen, the peace and prosperity ruled over Earth once again, a new era of prosperity and technology was sure to come.
Pyrus is a lively kingdom full with merchants, cyborgs and festivals at every corner. They are famous for their festivities as well as their happy and lively people. They can be quite compulsive at times as well but their intentions are always at heart. Members of their monarchy are, King Shinjiro Kuso and Queen Miyuki Kuso, along with their son, Prince Dan Kuso, the next king on the throne.
The Haos Kingdom is a peaceful one. Most of their people thrive on farming or cropping the fields. The people have the most advanced system of agriculture, along with the irrigation system, that could be programmed with a click of a button. They are usually the wisest and kindest out the whole land. They are very traditionalist and always to think things first. Members of their royal family are missing and at the front is Queen Serena Sheen, who serves as a supplementary until Queen Saki and her family reappear. Princess Fabia Sheen, sister of Queen Serena lives at the castle as well.
Tranquility is what reigns in the Aquos Land. Thought their intelligence and wit is not to be forgotten. They are the lead scientists on the land as well as astronomers. They've sent the most people out into outer space to colonize different planets and explore the vast galaxy along with having great ties with the Lunar Colonies. Most people are rich and live wealthy and healthy lives. King Shuuko Knight is at the throne with the next one on line would be Prince Klaus Knight. The Second Prince of the land, Marucho Marukura is the people's favorite ruler.
The Ventus land is known for their skilled ninjas and soldiers. They live under a strict regimen and they are very traditionalist to the core. They don't have much technology and they deemed their use only in extremely necessary occasions. The people are the most skilled across the land and aren't afraid of combat. King Chihiro Suzuki is at the throne and with his deceased princess and his grandson refusing to the throne, he could be the last one on the line of the Suzuki's.
Subterra is known for their beautiful women and landscapes across the land. They thrive on merchants and their extravagant food, selling all kinds of species and fruits. The people can either be too friendly and familiar or even selfish and obstinate. Most artists and celebrities reside at the land and they thrive on the multiple shows they present. They are ruled by King Marcus Clay and with the missing prince, Keith Clay, it could be Princess Mira Clay the next one on the throne for the Subterra people.
The Darkus land is full of aristocrats and politicians. The richer get richer and the poorer get poorer. They thrive on the black markets and the new technology of ID scanners along with their nuclear weapons. The outskirts of the land are quite peaceful but usually raided by the same soldiers of the land. King Zenoheald is at the top of the monarchy along with his son, Prince Hydron.
The Lunar Colonies on the other hand, where the population living at the Moon in outer space. Back when Aquos first started exploring the galaxies, many of them started to develop their own lives back at the First Moon. A few years forward there was already an established civilization at the planet. They have their own monarchy as well and they mostly thrive on trading and exploring new planets. At the top of the monarchy is King Naga, followed by his oldest son Prince Jin and Prince Rae, both at the race for being the next on the throne.
And at the center of it all, the castle of Vestroia stands tall, for all of its people and kingdoms across the land. The people of Vestroia thrive on peaceful philosophy and calm nature. The land is filled with extravagant nature and animals that all those who visit it, become enchanted to just see it. Above all there is one ruler, loved and cared by the all of people, King Joe Brown, who has just been announced as the new ruler at the sudden passing of his parents. The boy is only fifteen at the age, and many believe he doesn't have the guts to be king.
Sadly peaceful times are soon to be over and a large shadow is about to envelop all of the country. For the envy and hunger for power cannot be enough for one man. The lands will have to come together to stop his madness to overcome New Vestroia, and a missing princess might just save them from such dreadful fate.
Dan sighed as he made his way towards Joe's room at the Vestroia palace. The meeting with the rulers of the other lands was certainly not going to be the most interesting one, so at the request of his father, he was going to check up on Joe and accompany him to the meeting. Apparently King Marcus had suggested for them to meet face to face rather than to use the intercoms back at their palace. Shun insisted on coming with him, but he refused the offer. Nonetheless Dan had a feeling that the ninja was still following him, being his bodyguard and all he wasn't surprised.
The suit his mother's maids had given him was way too tight for him. It was of a deep red wine color along with a black coat for the upcoming winters across the land. A couple of guards and maids passed him and made a reverence at his presence. Dan gave them a nod and a small smile as he continued down the hall.
It always amazed him how big the Vestroia palace was. And how open everything seemed to be. Large windows stretched all the way at the halls and the white painting gave it a fantasy look, giving a perfect view of the peaceful kingdom down below the palace, along with its rich and extravagant nature. He could see various cyborgs mowing the lawn and people strolling at the peaceful streets of Vestroia. Dan was always fascinated when he walked through the castle it was something out of this world. And it certainly wasn't anything like home back at Pyrus.
He reached a large set of white doors, accompanied with two guards at each side. They both gave him a reverence and in turn he gave them a nod. He moved forward and extended his wrist to a small scanner right next to the door's handle. It made a slight 'beep' and he could hear the doors unlock. Without hesitating the guards opened up the doors for him. He thanked them and with that entered the room of the King of Vestoria, the doors soon closing behind him.
The room was even bigger than Joe's previous one, back when he was still a prince. The high-end ceiling and white walls decorated the room perfectly, as a small chandelier hung at the center of it all. Screenings of all sort things appeared at every wall, each of them with different pictures or information. A massive bed was at the end of the room, along with a small coffee table and a wooden desk at the other side of the room. As Dan made way towards the bed then he saw a small hologram at the bedside table.
It was a video playing of Joe and his parents somewhere at the beaches of the Subterra kingdom. They all had huge smiles on their lips and he could see that they indeed were a happy family. Dan stood next to the bed, his hands behind his back as he saw his friend sleeping like a log.
It was true that he was still four years older than Joe, but he had always felt fond of the boy back when they were little and would play at each other's rooms. It hadn't been that long since Dan had seen him, the last time being at the funeral of both the King and Queen of Vestoria, along with his coronation. Back then Joe looked like a total wreck. He had called him quite a few times to know if he had been eating properly as well as to message his adviser, Chan-Lee from one of Pyrus' colonies, to keep an eye on him.
Now it was safe to say that the new King of Vestoria looked more composed and calm. Dan had a small smile as his friend woke up from his deep slumber. His blue eyes still seemed a bit dull, and his light brown hair was still a mess, but he was recovering. Joe stared up at the ceiling, quite lost in thought until he noticed Dan. A smile broke on his lips in an instant.
"Your majesty" Dan made a slight bow and he was met with a pillow in the face. He released a laugh soon after and threw it back at Joe "Glad to see that the Sleeping Beauty has woken up!" He joked as Joe threw his head back laughing. Before Dan could register it, his friend was already giving him a hug.
"I thought you weren't coming" Joe pulled back, passing a hand through his locks. He sat back down at his bed, moving to the other side, to make space for Dan to sit down "After rejecting the marriage proposal from Princess Mira, I supposed I would have to face King Marcus and the rest on my own" He gave him a nervous smile.
"Like I could do that" Dan chuckled as he settled on the bed. He still remembered the backlash he received from the Subterra's Royal Family at rejecting their princess "How's it been at the castle? I know it's been over a month already, but I still worry"
"Well…" Joe sighed before he continued, "The people are still mourning them. They would send big baskets full with flowers or fruit to give as offering for them. The news are still talking about it and don't get me started on the constant bash by them" He laughed a bit, but Dan could still see a sad look on his eyes "But it's the same for me. I'm still not used to be the king and I really miss them" The brunette then started coughing out of nowhere. Dan stood up and walked over to him but Joe only held up his hand and pressed a series of numbers at a small port next to his bed. A glass of water and some pills were delivered and he drank them quickly.
"I assume your condition isn't getting any better?" Dan patted his back just as the king shook his head. His coughing fit was gone, but now he looked more tired than before. The brunette could see now the dark circles under his eyes and some strange dots on his back. Joe always had a poor health condition since they were kids. He vividly remembered doctors and nurses going everywhere with him and new band aids all over his arms to hide the vaccines. A pair of maids came from the door leading to the bathroom.
"Your Majesties," They made a bow at the two of them "We were wondering if the king wanted to take his bath now. The doctor has requested us to take you back to the infirmary, your majesty" Dan looked back at Joe, as he nodded slightly. The two maids quickly hurried and slung both of his arms around their necks "You can wait for your Majesty right here Prince Dan, if that's what you'd like"
"Don't worry I'll come back once he's finished" They both gave him another bow as they took Joe back to the bathroom. Dan strolled out of the room and went in the direction of the meeting with the kings. He'll have to announce them that Joe wasn't really up for the meeting after all.
King Soichiro and his wife, Queen Sakura had died on an accident about a month ago. They had been travelling to one of their colonies at the edge of the Ventus kingdom, when the aircraft burst into flames. No one aboard the aircraft survived. Many believed that Ventus had been the ones behind it, but King Chihiro claimed he would never do such thing after having a very peaceful relation with the Royal Family of Vestroia. The only reason Joe hadn't gone with his parents was simply because he wanted to look after his people once they left.
Dan looked back outside through the windows of the palace. Several people were walking down the street as the sky was filled with airships going from one-way to another. Many of them were still wearing their distinctive white clothes, used only when mourning. Personally he hadn't met King Soichiro that much but he knew that he ruled Vestroia like no one ever could. He loved his people and they loved him back.
"And here I thought you weren't coming to the meeting Prince Dan" A voice full of venom and malice reached his ears and Dan couldn't help but to turn and glare at the owner. Right before him was standing Prince Hydron of Darkus, a smug smile on his lips. He was wearing his usual white and black suit along with his royal blue cape, blonde hair pulled back and purple eyes filled with amusement.
"What a surprise meeting you here Hydron" Dan had no intention of addressing him as a prince. They were around the same age and he had never seen someone acting so spoiled and cruel towards his subjects. Prince Hydron was very well known back at Darkus for giving severe punishment for those opposing him as well as grave humiliations to those below him. It made Dan's blood boil. King Zenoheald wasn't any better in the least.
"So disrespectful," He gave Dan a sad mocking smile "And here I thought we could be friends after both of us being engaged" The blonde chuckled a bit before adding "Oh sorry I forgot you broke your engagement with the Subterra princess"
"The engagement is my and Princess Mira's business, not yours" He declared without any hint of hesitation "And who is the lucky lady?" Dan knew that anyone who even thought of marrying Hydron was out of their damn minds.
"Princess Fabia agreed to my proposal." Dan's eyes went big as plates, only making Hydron's smile widen.
"Last I heard Princess Fabia was marrying Prince Jin from the Lunar Colonies." The brunette said. Princess Fabia from Haos was only a temporary princess after all, but he knew that marrying Prince Jin, a member of the Royal Family of the Lunar Colonies, would surely give Haos a bigger economical advantage.
"Indeed she was. Until Prince Jin died." Prince Hydron noted, with no hint of sympathy or loss in his voice. Prince Jin was dead? Dan brought a hand to mess up his hair. When had this happened? "Apparently three days ago a fight broke in his palace and he was killed in the process"
"And you took advantage of that and proposed to Princess Fabia? What about Prince Rae?" Dan was having a strange feeling setting on his stomach. It was as if it was telling him to back away from the scene and leave Hydron's presence immediately.
"All is fair in love and war. Prince Rae has no desire of marrying Princess Fabia" The blonde looked out the window, a strange look settling on his eyes "After all it's no mystery that Princess Fabia is eager to marry anyone from royal blood"
"Why are you saying that?" Dan had a vague suspicion of it, but he wasn't about to voice out his thoughts at the least trusting prince.
"I thought you were smarter than that Prince Dan," He joked "Queen Serena and Princess Fabia are just substitutes until Queen Saki is found once again. I'm sure both of them want to marry before that happens so they can stay on the throne. Though I suspect that Princess Fabia is being used as bait for that. After all no one has had any news of Queen Saki nor the Haos Lost Princess"
Dan sent him a look before staring deep in thought at the outskirts of Vestoria. The original Queen of Haos was Queen Saki, but she went missing around 18 years ago, along with her husband and daughter. All of Haos broke down at the news and the people started looking for them. In the meantime Princess Serena was asked to fill Queen Saki's duties until she was found. Even though 18 years had passed the Haos population were still looking for their former queen.
The rumor of the Lost Princess was also widely spread across the globe, with hopes of bringing a much brighter future. Everyone was awaiting her return, but the only thing known about the girl was that she had the most captivating pair of blue eyes. Many believed she would rule Haos with much more grace than Queen Serena and Queen Saki and maybe even stop the reign of King Zenoheald. Dan hardly believed that just a simple girl could stop all of that.
"And believe me when I say this, Princess Fabia won't give up the throne even if the Lost Princess appears and I'm sure my father won't even think of passing down his power to someone else." Hydron perked up as he started to walk away "Who knows maybe even a war would ensure…"
"You seem awfully certain about that Prince Hydron" Dan turned to glare at him. The Darkus Prince broke into a fit of laughter as he twirled one lock of his blonde hair, and turned to him with a smile.
"Keep your eyes open Prince Dan. I'll see you at the next meeting at the Haos palace…" And with that Dan saw the retreating form of Prince Hydron and turned toward the direction of Joe's room once again. What was all of that? He had been suspecting some sort of attack coming from Darkus since Zenoheald was at the throne but with this new engagement to Princess Fabia, would that mean that they would be allies in all of this?
The brunette ruffled his hair even more as he kept remembering the words Hydron had just told him. It wasn't an open declaration of war that much he knew, but it sounded awfully similar to a warning. Darkus and Pyrus never had the best sort of relationship, and even lesser when his father and Zenoheald were the kings. His fists clenched as he thought of some sort of solution to all of this. He shouldn't have rejected Princess Mira, now their relationship with Subterra was even more strained. So that left only Vestroia, Ventus and Aquos.
He sighed and tried to think in a more positive light. Hydron was always one to bluff at things that were greater than him. Maybe it was one of those times once again. Whatever it was, Dan hoped that a war wouldn't ensure during these times. It had been quite a while since New Vestoria experienced such tranquility and he prayed to the gods that such peace would stay with them. A feeling on his gut was telling him otherwise.
HEY GUYS! This shit posted itself so I couldn't wait for your comments on whether you wanted to read it or not, oh well. So here's the first rewritten chapter for Lost Princess! haha god when I first started writing this (the rewritten chapter) I was having a twitch from just remembering all of that shit I wrote those years ago and god someone should've stabbed me to keep me from writing such horrible things tbh nothing I can do about it now I suppose.
So as you can all guess, this story takes a whole different turn than the previous one. If you have read 'The Lunar Chronicles' by Marissa Meyer or 'The Selection' by Kiera Cass be glad to know that I have as well and that I took these two books as inspiration for this lovely fanfic haha sorry the first chapter is kind of short and well the protagonist hasn't appeared yet, but I promise I'll try to keep an eye on this story like with the other ones.
So without further ado, I hoped you liked the first chapter, if you have any questions, doubts or comments do please leave a review or PM me! Thanks for all of the support so far you guys, I really appreciate it and for all of you who have kept track of this story in particular, this is for you!
