A soft caress was all it took to awake her from slumber.

Two fingers moving along her eyebrow and down her cheek; along her upper lip and to the center where they stopped.

Sweet lips replaced the fingers in a tender love and things to come filled kiss.

Bittersweet words filled the silent air.

"I love you Claudia Jean."

Strong arms held her in a tight embrace.

Gentleness tucked her back among the blankets.

A feather kiss across her forehead.

And the fingers followed the same trail.

"Sleep well my love."

He turned away slowly.

And then he was gone.
