Mean Husband

"You look tired hon." Nick told Jackie as she was standing at the stove making stir fry for dinner.

"I am a little tired, it was kind of a long day, we had an assembly today and it threw the kids out of their routine and as a result they were kind of wild, plus I was on my feet a lot today."

"Come sit down." Nick said as he went up behind her and grabbed her hand.

"I can't, my stir fry will burn." She told him.

"I'll take care of it." He promised as he led her to a kitchen chair.

"Thanks." She told him gratefully with a smile.

Nick then quickly poked his head into the living room to check on the kids, they were fine so he went back to the stove to finish the stir fry.

"Is it good?" Nick asked a while later as the family was eating dinner.

"Yeah." Jasmine said as she fought to get a noodle on her fork.

After dinner Nick and Jackie played with the kids and when it was time for the kids to hit the hay Nick wouldn't let Jackie help him put the kids to bed, instead he insisted that she relax with her feet up.

"Are they down for the night?" Jackie asked Nick when he'd come back down to the living room and sat down next to her on the couch.

"Yep, you doin' ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for taking care of the kids tonight."

"No problem." Nick said as he began to rub her back gently.

"You're so sweet." Jackie told him.

"I know." Nick said with a grin.

Jackie laughed.

"Will my sweet husband rub my feet too?" Jackie asked.

"Nope." Nick said, giving her a look that said you knew the answer to that question when you asked it.

Nick would do anything in the world to make Jackie more comfortable during her pregnancy except give her a foot massage, but it wasn't because the thought of touching her feet grossed him out, it was because when she had been pregnant with Jasmine they had gone to a Lamaze class and the instructor had said that rubbing a pregnant woman's feet could cause her to go into labor and ever since then Nick has refused to rub Jackie's feet when she was pregnant. Jackie tried to explain to him that it was just certain areas of the foot that could cause a problem, and even then it was a small chance but Nick wasn't taking any chances. He would not rub her feet before she was 38 weeks along, that way if it did cause her to go into labor it was ok because the baby would be full term.

Jackie laughed at him and he just smiled at her.

"Would you like me to go rent a movie, and we can just hang out and relax?" He asked her after he had finished massaging her back.

"Actually, I think I am going to go to bed. Thank you so much for finishing dinner, putting the kids to bed, and for the massage, I am truly spoiled." She told him as she leaned over and gave him a kiss.

"You're welcome, goodnight, I love you, and let me know if there is anything else you'd like." He told her with a sincere smile.

"Rub my feet." She told him with a playful smile.

He laughed.

"Anything but that." He told her.

"Goodnight, I love you." She said before she got up off the couch.

He smiled at her.

"Goodnight sweetie." He responded before she headed off to bed.
